Kitty's POV

I stared at my black combat boots wondering why Jose had looked at me like that.

Omg! Did I smell?

I glanced around then sniffed my pit just in case.

I smell fine... Maybe its my breath...

I breathed into the palm of my hand sniffing it.

No... what is this guys problem? Wait! do I have toothpaste on my chin? Oh gosh that would be horrible.

I quickly whipped out my phone and checked the reflection to see if I did. There was nothing. I checked my teeth just in case, still nothing. I frowned at my reflection. I seemed fine in all the hygiene aspects.

"Aye new girl!"

Startled, I looked away from my phone to see Jose and Jay staring at me. I quickly slid my phone back into my pocket hoping they hadn't noticed even though they obviously had.

Jose narrowed his eyes at me, "You coming or not? Cause if you're gonna stare at your reflection all day then
you can find your own way to class."

He started walking away then paused and yelled over his shoulder, "Oh and try not to run into Zane. You'll regret it."

Jay punched him in his shoulder, then turned back to me and shrugged as if to say "What are you gonna do?" Then she turned to follow him.

"Wait! Who's Zane?" I yelled running to catch up.

Jose POV

"Wait! Who's Zane?"

I could hear her feet running after us, not wanting to be left behind. She was so uneducated it was hilarious. To not know who Zane was.

I guess she had a free pass being her first day and all but still. She'll find out soon enough.

Kitty's POV

I ran to catch up, not wanting to get left behind in this house of horrors. I look up and searched the sea of bobbing heads surrounding me but not one looks familiar.

Wait! There!

I could see a familiar head in the distance. I tried to shove my way through the crowd. All elbows and knees and "Exscuse me"s.

I was just about to reach the class room door I saw Jose and Jay disappear into a couple seconds ago and I see my shoe is untied.

Reallyyy shoelace? We gotta do this right now! *Menatlly groans*

I bend down and tie my shoe, silently grateful for sometime to pull myself together.

New school. New identity. Its not gonna last but let's make it worth it.

I staighten up, still staring at the laces of my combat boots .

One foot in front of the other...

I put my right foot forward.

Again...

I go to take another step and run smack into a wall. I throw my hand up against it to keep from falling.

What the.. Where the heck did that wall come fro-

My thought cuts off as I look up and realize that what is blocking my path is most definitely NOT a wall.

HOLY ROCK HARD ABS...

My jaw drops as I stare at the perfectly tanned and toned stomach beneath my hand.

Is that even real?? It looks photoshopped...

"You wanna move your hand?"

I jumped back. The stomach speaks.

Doesn't sound to friendly. Wait stomachs don't talk...

I slowly move my eyes up to see pitch black eyes boring down on me.

"You should watch where your going. Freshman,"

My cheeks flamed.

"I'm not a freshman," I mumbled.

"What was that pipsqueak?"

Laughter.

"I didnt quite hear you," he says as he leans in.

"I said," I whisper.

Then louder, "You should not block the hallways. Some people actually have more important things to do like you know, be successful in life."

I pause, tapping my finger to my chin.

"Oh wait. I'm sorry. You wouldn't know about that. Right? You're just the dumb jock no one is gonna care about after graduation."

I glance around at the sound of laughter then inoccently say, "Oh I'm sorry.. Did I just hurt your little man pride?"

I leaned in close.

"Sorry not sorry."

Triumphantly smirking, I side step him to get to the class room door.

I stop and turn back with a smile "Oh and by the way, I'm a senior."

Then I walk towards Jay and Jose who stand, mouths open, in the door way.

"Come on guys. Class awaits us," I say.

They glance at each other and turn and walk inside. From the looks on their faces I can't tell how deep of a hole I've dug myself in.

I guess I'm gonna find out, I think as I follow them into the classroom.
