As you may have heard Bloody Mary is just a children's game you play at sleepovers to test your friends bravery. But there is more to Bloody Mary then you may think. It turns out Bloody Mary was a real person. There have been many stories told about Bloody Mary but the real story was back in the older days when there wasn't any medicine. A woman that looked young and beautiful but was actually an older woman lived in a cabin in the woods. She would make medicine out of herbs and heal people from sicknesses. People started spreading rumors that she was a witch because she look so young but was older and healed people somehow.
One day 2 young girls went missing and everyone blamed "the witch" for the two girls going missing. The people tortured and killed Bloody Mary. Before Bloody Mary died the last thing she saw was her reflection in a mirror and she was crying blood. The people later figured out that Bloody Mary was not the one who caused the two girls to go missing.
All along there was a travels-man that had kidnapped the two girls and killed them. He had a wagon with a cover over it and inside they found the two girls dead.
Bloody Mary's soul was said to get trapped inside the mirror and as legend goes she is now seeking revenge. Bloody Mary mostly targets young girls. As you know to summon Bloody Mary you have to chant her name in the mirror 3 times. As legend gos she doesn't kill you but it is said she scratches you. There is a kind of protection chant you can say to protect you from Bloody Mary scratching you. It goes:
For thine protection I now pray.
Let all evil turn away.
Protect me night.
Protect me day
And keep misfortunes well at bay.
I don't know if that chant works or not but you might need as much protection as you can get. So before you try playing Bloody Mary and you are a young girl you might want to be careful and use the chant.
