Chapter 9:

A week later.
It's been a week since the break up and Kevin's been moody lately. Megan didn't want to interfere with his moodiness.

Megan: Kevin, have you seen my nostril spray? My nose is running again
Kevin: take some allergies medicine
Megan: I did, and I'm still stuffy
Kevin: well... what else do you want me to do about it Megan? Go, look for it yourself
Megan: wow, someone still moody
Kevin: well you have your girlfriend of 5 months break your heart
Megan: Kevin, get over it, she was a bitch anyways, sorry

Megan apologized after receiving a look from Kevin.

Kevin: keep saying that word again or I'm gonna wash your mouth out with soap
Megan: whatever, I'm just gonna try to be "sensitivities" to you right now since you're in a lot of "pain"
Kevin: thanks
Megan: I was being sarcastic (stomps out of room and walks past Joe and Nick) move
Nick: you know, you could be a lot nicer to us

Megan glares at them and heads upstairs.

Nick: what's her problem?
Joe: monthly I guess (shrugs)
Nick: Joe don't accuse girls on being on their "monthly" they really hate that
Joe: whatever, let's go see what's Kevin's up too

Nick and Joe enters the kitchen.

Joe: hey Kevo, what's up?
Kevin: looking for my car keys, I'm going to Megan's school for her conference with her professor
Nick: by any chance, was Megan in here?
Kevin: yeah she was looking for her nostril spray, she was getting a running nose
Nick: she could have gone through the bathroom cabinet where you keep all your medicine, yet... she chose to come downstairs and ask you
Kevin: (gets the idea) Megan! Give me back my car keys! (runs up the kitchen steps)

Kevin's POV
After I finally got my keys from Megan, I told one of the boys to watch Megan for me. Joe ran out of the house before Nick could say anything, and he cursed himself under his breath.

Kevin: don't worry man, you will be fine
Nick: but you're leaving me with the demon child
Kevin: please for me, if your parents ever ask you to babysit your brother Frankie, I promise I will do it
Nick: (sighs) fine, I'll watch the little brat
Kevin: thanks Nick, you're the best friend a guy could ever ask for. Megan!
Nick: (gives him angry look) you. So. Owe. Me!!!
Kevin: I know
Megan: (comes down the stairs) yes Kev?
Kevin: Nick is in charge, do whatever he says, you get in trouble with him, you get in trouble with me, Capeesh
Megan: (fakes smiles) capeesh
Kevin: no pranks on Nick, Megan. I mean it.
Megan: (sighs) yes sir
Kevin: I better hear good reports from Nick tonight while I'm out. I'm gonna be at your school now
Megan: whatever my teacher says about me, just know I love you very much
Kevin: hmm... nice try. Yeah? If I get one bad report from them, you know what that means
Nick: I thought the meeting was for her failing grades
Kevin: it is
Nick: well then isn't she already enough trouble for that
Kevin: touché, Megan, you're in the clear for now (leaves)
End of POV

Megan: wow thanks Nick, for having my back
Nick: well I was hoping we could start out this afternoon on a clean start, with me being nice to you, and you being nice to me
Megan: nah, that's not how things work in my house. In my house, I can do whatever I want to do with you (pokes him in the head)
Nick: your dead, come here!

Megan screams and runs into the kitchen and Nick ran after her.

Kevin's POV
I made it to Megan's school and arrived to the classroom that states on the paper where her classroom was located.

Kevin: is Professor Blake here?
???: I'm sorry he will be absent today, family emergency
Kevin: Professor Deleasa?
Professor Deleasa: oh hello Kevin, I wasn't expecting you
Kevin: well I am Megan's guardian
Professor Deleasa: oh yes, I forgot. Your parents past away when Megan was 7 am I correct, Megan told me.
Kevin: yeah...
Professor Deleasa: I'm so sorry for your lost. How's things holding up for you guys?
Kevin: been okay, I mean I'm still making music with my best friends, while raising my 13 year old sister with my friends helping me out
Professor Deleasa: that's good, have a seat
Kevin: so, we are here discuss Megan
Professor Deleasa: yes, it seems that Megan hasn't been doing well this year, and I was worried if something was going on at home?
Kevin: well... to tell you the truth. Things have been going fine at home lately, I always told her to do her school work when she gets home
Professor Deleasa: has she been getting help with school before she got a tutor?
Kevin: my mom used to be her home school teacher before they put her in an all girl school
Professor Deleasa: well, it seems that Megan struggles with reading comprehension, we may need to put her in a smaller class if she can't handle bigger class
Kevin: I'm sure Megan can handle it if she just studies hard enough
Professor Deleasa: Kevin, I'm afraid it's much more serious than that. Your sister struggles with tests which can affect her academic studies
Kevin: what can we do to make it better?
Professor Deleasa: right now you're, since she is being tutored by someone. But I suggest you let her tutor know that she should help Megan on her testing abilities
Kevin: alright, thank you, Professor Deleasa
Professor Deleasa: (smiles) you can call me Dani or Danielle
Kevin: oh, okay Dani and you can call me Kevin...
Dani: (giggles) I know
