The mansion becomes clearer now. Peacekeepers are roaming around, Capitol people waiting to meet Snow and Avoxes in almost every corner. We try our best not to get noticed, this training is the exact thing that might happen tomorrow. Boggs leads the team with his Holo;it tells us where to go and where there are fewer peacekeeper around. In addition, the device tells us where Snow is at the exact place and time.
“REBELS! INTRUDERS IN THE MANSION!” a peacekeeper shouts alerting the other peacekeepers then they pointed their guns to us. We run towards a safer place then suddenly a gun was fired by them luckily no one was shot. While we run towards a safe room a pack of dog like mutts block our way and we can’t go back because the peacekeepers are following us. We have no choice but to fire back at them, I use my gun to save my arrows for a much tougher fight; Peeta has his blade and knives as his weapons as I run closer to him.
"We have to shoot back we have no choice!" I ordered them
"But they are still human Katniss. We can't-We can't just kill them!" Peeta says
Then Gale fires the first one shooting the mutts straight into its eye, I also shot three more mutts down while Peeta stands and shake looking confused and don’t know what to do. The soldier that we are with along with Finnick, Boggs and Jackson are all fighting the peacekeepers, after killing all the mutts, I grab Peeta’s shaking hands and we all run towards the nearest room there and lock the door.
“That…was…fun” Gale says in between breaths
“What’s so funny? We could’ve died out there Gale!” I yelled at him
“This is just a simulation Katniss, it’s not real. They won’t kill us even if they wanted to.” Gale says to me, he’s right. I forgot that none of this is real and that it’s all part of our training. I see Peeta is still shaking so I walk towards him and asks
“Are you okay Peeta?”
“Yes? No? Maybe? Don’t come near me!” he yelled
“Why? What’s happening to you?” I push him at the wall and try to look at his face, I saw his eyes dilate and change to black. He’s having it, he’s having flashbacks again, no! Not this time. He pushes me back and I’m thrown away, landing on my tail bone.
“DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH ME! YOU ARE A MUTT! YOU’RE A STINKING MUTT!” Peeta screams
“Peeta no, it’s not real!” I slowly try to stand straight but the way I landed was so bad I can’t even stand straight, my lower back and bottom really hurts
“YOU KILLED MY FAMILY! I SHOULD KILL YOU!” then he runs towards me, I try to cover my stomach with my body as much as possible and prepare for impact. He is so close to me when the other soldier pushes him aside. Peeta punches the soldier so Jackson, Boggs and Finnick all try to hold Peeta back. Gale and the other soldier is holding me and trying to help me stand. Peeta is so strong and was able to free himself from Boggs arms; he grabs his knife and looks at me. “No! Peeta STOP!” I scream, he charges towards me then the soldier besides me covers his body in front of mine, Peeta stabs his knife several times to the soldiers vest and into his body. I see blood everywhere and it creeps me out so I tried to run to Peeta to stop him but Gale holds me back.
“Peeta stop please! This is not real! STOP!” I cry but he did not stop
Finnick kicks Peeta’s arms and holds him back, the other soldier helps Finnick hold Peeta while Jackson checks the stabbed soldiers situation. Boggs is pressing some button on his Holo then suddenly the mansion changes back into a plain white room. Still the bloodstains are everywhere and the soldier is still bleeding, Peeta is calming back down and only needs one person to hold him back
“Go get some doctors now!” Boggs ordered the other soldier and he immediately leaves the training cell. Peeta returns to his real self and started to cry when he saw his hands with blood and a soldier bleeding to death. I want to run to him but Gale won’t let me;
“Let me go Gale, he’s fine now” I demanded him
“No Katniss, I can’t let you do that. He hurt you again and I don’t trust him.” Gale answers back not letting go of my arms
“GALE!” I shout and gives him the look eventually he let’s go of me after. I want to run but I can’t so I just try to limp towards Peeta. Only three steps to him when suddenly a jolt of pain comes searing from my back. It’s not the baby, I know it’s not. It’s from my bad landing and immediately Gale comes and supports me, making sure I don’t fall again.
“You need to go to the hospital,” Gale says
“No, I’m okay. I need to get to with him.” Then I see Gale’s eyes sad as I say the words
“Can’t let you do that!”
“Will you just! Stop this Gale!” I shout he is so irritating! I walk again to Peeta, another jolt comes from my back and this time my legs give up and sends me down on my knees. Gale comes running back to me and holds my back
“Aww!” I moan
“I’m taking you to the hospital whether you like it or not!” He scoops me up and carries me then the doctors came in with the soldier and quickly assess our situation, I didn’t say anything the pain from my back is enough to keep me quiet.
