I ended up dropping Alexis off at my moms house so that I could spend the day with Leah, when we got home, and we got inside, Leah tried to walk past me, but I grabbed her and picked her up and I sat down on the couch with her in my arms, me cradling her like a baby. She smiled small, and I smiled at her. "You okay princess?" I asked her. She nodded, "Yes daddy." She mumbled. "Hey how about me and you spend the whole day together? Just the two of us? Only me and you. You and daddy?" I asked and rubbed my nose against her little one. She laughed the most cutest laugh I could ever hear and I laughed too. She nodded, "ok what do you want to do today? You get to pick." I told her. She thought about it. "Chuckie cheese!" She said happily. I smiled and nod and kiss her head. "Anything for you princess." I said. I picked her up and we headed to the car...
As we walk through the front doors of chuckie cheese, leah is already excited. I laughed and went to the coin a lot where I got her a whole bunch of tokens. After about four hours, we had to leave to go get Leah. She grabbed her prizes, with the help of me, and we made our way to the car, when we picked up Alexis, I look back at them through the review mirrors and see Leah giving one of her stuffed animals to Alexis, and I smile...
It was bed time for Alexis and Leah, so when I go into Alexis's room I see Leah already in there, saying something to Alexis. I lean against the door to listen. "Your mommy left you here, but that's okay, my mommy was a bad mommy too, but my old daddy loves me, and now daddy loves me and you! We don't need a mommy, daddy says as long as we got each other, everything is okay in the world. When you get bigger, your not gonna be sad, because I be sad for you now. But daddy took all the sad away, and I take all your sad away! Okay?" Leah asked Alexis, as if she would respond. Leah leaned down and kissed Alexis's head gently. "Night night, go sleepies Alexis!" She whispered and covered her up. I smiled. But just one thing broke my heart, and that's what I heard Leah mumble to herself after Alexis was asleep,
"Why don't I have a mommy?"
