Soren's POV

Time was like a raging bull coming towards us—taunting me. We still haven't found her and each second wasted, I thought of the many ways I'd have to make it up to her for making her this long to save her.

Was she hurt? Is she frightened, cold...alive?

My paws pounded harder against the dirt just thinking of the worst case senarios. Despite the fatigue I felt for three days, my determination to get her back kept me going. I haven't eaten, sleep or thought straight.

My mate is in danger...It's my entire fault.

Crossing the large mass of water wasn't an easy walk in the park. We didn't expect the water to be so rough, cold and deep. Alpha Ivan looked like a deranged wet cat after taking the dip out the freezing water.

Peyton's captors had us running in circles; up and over mountain tops, through territories unknown and busy human infested towns. Ashton was leading us the way, but it was taking so long to get to her!

Just when I was about to force control over the whole brigade guided by Ashton's 'trusty' tracker nose, he finally turned his giant wolf head and shifted back to human form.

"We've reached hunters zone, be on your toes. I can smell their traps everywhere." We all nodded with seriousness.

"I sense her!" Ivan murmured alertly. "I can feel her but it's faint, I might be able to link with her if we were closer. Ashton, do you think you can safely bring us closer?" Ashton nodded.

Automatically I leaped to Ashton's side wanting to be the first to see her. To be sure she was okay.

"Don't get ahead of yourself Soren" Dad growled at me. "This isn't our territory; you need to keep your eyes open. Don't be careless"I huffed, my breath creating a puff of smoke. I don't give a shit about my well-being at the moment."Soren...!" Dad barked. I nodded back; just to assure him I won't do anything rash—maybe.

Ivan whined all of a sudden.

"What is it Alpha?" Derrick came up to him.

The pricky Alpha suddenly lays on the floor as if in a faint spell. For the love of—don't sleep right in the middle of finding your kidnapped daughter!! I wanted to yell.

His eyes widen and the bluish grey hues of his irises glow like a blue moon, "She is connected with me" He mumbles.

I jump in front of him. "WHERE IS SHE?" Our noses nearly inches apart.

"Stop shouting, I'm trying to keep the connection" I pinch my lips together in a tight line, trying to hold the rumble of anger eager to come out.

Dad pulls me back by the shoulders. "Easy son..." I shrug him off.

Ivan shakes his head and his lids close tightly. When they open back up again, he was a completely different person. His eyes looked completely dilated and his face pulled up to a monstrous manifestation—he looked full beast mode.

"I'm going to KILL them!" He sprinted in full speed. All of us had no choice but to follow and I was hot on his tail.

If Ivan had lost all humanity from what he felt from Peyton, my wolf was close to breaking free as well. Lifting my head up at the sky, I howled signaling full attack. From all directions wolves appeared from both packs ready at our flanks.
