Chapter 19: NEVER

W I L L

I frowned while looking at Albert. It was his first day after being suspended for three days. Congrats to him. I was getting a little annoyed how he kept on turning his head like he was looking for someone. I bumped my elbow on his side making him jump and I laughed.

"Dude!" He exclaimed while I was still laughing about how hilarious his face was.

"What the hell's wrong with you?" I asked and he turned his head again.

"I'm avoiding someone." He said making me wrinkle my forehead.

"You're not suppose to search for someone you're avoiding."

"Of course I should know where he is so I can avoid him." He said and I just nodded to end the conversation.

"How was your mom after your coming out?" I asked and I chuckled when his cheeks went a little bit pink.

"Coming out your ass." He said. "She wasn't angry after I explained everything to her."

I nodded. "Really? I thought she's going to scold you. You did what that Margo asked for anyway but I think it was too much for a girl."

"That's what mom said too but it's done already." He said and I nodded as I pulled the notes that I made for him while he was in suspension.

"Here. You're welcome." I said and gave him the notes.

"Wow, thanks."

I just hummed and closed my locker. I knew he was dying to walk away from this hallway because everything happens in the hallway. I looked at him as we walked to our class.

"It's Caleb, right?" I was referring about the someone he was searching.

His face twisted like he just ate a very sour food. "Who's that?"

I chuckled. "Don't try to deny it. You're so obvious."

"I'm not." He said and leaned a little closer. "How about your night with Hal? Did you do it already?" He grinned and I felt my cheeks heated up. He automatically turned the table by just mentioning Hal's name.

"Do what? Are you crazy? We just went out to eat." I said.

Albert gave me a suspicious look and I wanted to stick my fingers in his eyes.

"Don't give me a look like that. We didn't do anything. It was just a hug."

Albert gasped and I wanted to smack myself for slipping it from my mouth.

"Hey!"

My soul jumped out from my body when I heard Hal from behind and it sometimes pissed me off how he always make an entrance. I turned my head to glare at him but I couldn't get mad at him. Not when he looked so handsome.

"You scared me." I said and he gave me an apologetic smile.

"Sorry."

"Yeah. You scared me too." Albert said and looked around and I knew he was looking if Caleb was with Hal. Too bad Caleb wasn't here.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. His first class wasn't in this area.

"I just want to see you." He said and I didn't expect him to say that. It caught me off guard and I felt my cheeks heating up and I glanced at Albert who was giving the both of us a very crazy look like he knew something even though there wasn't something.

"Why?" Albert asked and I glared at him.

"Go to your class or you'll be late." I said and he nodded.

"He haven't answered why he wanted to see you." Albert grinned.

"Shut up." I said and he laughed and I jumped when he poked my side before running to our classroom.

I glanced at Albert. We were in the cafeteria for lunch and he was making a very annoyed face and he wasn't touching his food.

"What happened? You failed all your exams?" I asked and he stabbed his sandwich with the fork.

"I feel so annoyed." He said.

"Obviously. Care to tell me the reason?" I said and he glared at me. At first I thought he was glaring at me but his line of vision passed through me making me turn my head and saw Hal and his friends walking towards us. They just finished their lunch.

I only looked at Hal and our eyes met making me stretch my lips in a small smile. They walked past our table and I heard Caleb saying about tonight but I was more focused at Hal.

"Can I give you a ride after school?" He asked.

"Do whatever you want." I said and he smiled.

I watched him walked out of the cafeteria and I didn't know what was happening to me. Why was I paying more attention to Hal? It was strange but I love his company even though it sometimes feels awkward around him.

I turned to Albert.

"What did Caleb said?" I asked and he groaned.

"Nothing. Don't listen to that eavesdropper." He said making me feel curious what was really happening between the two of them. I was about to ask him just when I felt my phone vibrated in my pocket.

I pulled it and my lips stretched on its own when I saw who messaged me.

I'll see you later

"Is that Hal?" Albert asked and I wiped my smile.

"Just eat your lunch." I said and he narrowed his eyes at me.

"You've got something going on between the two of you." Albert said.

"No. It's you who have something going on with Caleb." I said and he wrinkled his forehead.

"Never."

"I'm betting you'll take back your word someday."

"I won't be taking back any of my words."

"Let's see."
