Chapter 05: DAILY APP

"Are you sure this is not you?" I asked Albert who chuckled.

"Seriously? I don't send love notes."

I frowned. "This ain't love notes!" I threw the paper in my locker and shut it close. "No one writes those kind of things with a horrible handwriting." I said and Albert laughed.

"Hey."

We both turned to see whose voice it was even though I know who was the owner and saw Hal and his smiling face and also his mesmerizing eyes.

"Hey." We both looked at him and greeted him back.

"I just want to say hey." He smiled even wider making me frown.

Weird.

"I'll see you later." He said and we just both nodded our heads before he walked ahead to his class.

I looked at Albert and he also looked at me with our puzzled faces. It was him who laughed first and then I followed.

"Man! What was that!?" He asked between laughs. "I thought he was going to say something like money or life?"

We were laughing as we headed to our class.

**

"Your admirer heard you yesterday." Albert said and I frowned. I received another note with a quote written. It looks like an app with free daily quotes. The strange thing was it wasn't the same horrible handwriting anymore.

It looked nice. Even great. I think it was called calligraphy and I could tell that it wasn't printed because there are shaky parts on the edge of the letters.

"Heard me what?" I placed the note above the other notes that I forgot to discard.

"You saying no one writes things like that in horrible handwriting." He said and I did remember saying those words but I don't know.

Should I be happy because I won't be seeing another horrible handwriting for the rest of my school days?

I looked around and scanned every faces in the locker hallway. That someone was there near and heard us yesterday when I said those things.

My eyes caught of Hal and his friends marching down the aisle of students, looking so stunning in his own traditional black leather jacket and pants with his piercing eyes and wide smile and I could feel like it was directed to me—or was I just too assuming?

Why would I assume?

"Hey." He greeted as he walked past us and Albert and I greeted back.

"It feels like you're so close with Hal." Albert said making me crunch my face.

"No. We just exchange greetings every time we meet. That's all." I said and he nodded. "By the way, mom invites you for dinner tonight." I said. "It's my dad's birthday and we don't have visitors. Are you in?"

Albert haven't been to the house before unlike me. I've been there in his house a lot of times. Mom knew about Albert because I talked a lot about my friends and stuffs at home.

"Really?" Albert happily smiled and I nodded. "Sure."

**

"Feel at home." I said as I lead Albert inside the house.

"You have a nice house." He said making me frown because their house was bigger but, of course, I would still choose our house.

I went to the kitchen and saw mom preparing. She was pleased to finally meet Albert and we offered to help her but she sent us to my room saying she would just call us for dinner.

"I can tell that your mom likes mermaids." Albert said while we were on our way upstairs.

My eyes looked to the huge painting at the wall of the stairs. It was a mermaid sitting on a rock in between a vast ocean and waves. I forgot about that painting there because I got used to it that I never really paid too much attention.

"It's not my mom's. It's from my grandma. She liked them." I said and I just remembered about something that my grandma gave me but I think I lost it. I was still a kid when mom handed it to me.

Albert and I just hanged out in my room and played some mobile games until we heard a few knocks from the door. It was mom saying dinner was ready.

We went down and dad was already home and I introduced Albert to them. Albert's smile was reaching up to his ears because of my sister. I rolled my eyes while chuckling when mom started singing a happy birthday song and we followed.

The food and everything were great but not until mom asked about school and girlfriends and Albert opened up about those fucking daily app love notes.

"Really?" Mom chuckled and Cheryll laughed.

"So cheesy." She said.

I rolled my eyes. "I think it was a prank." I said.

"I don't think so and we think that his admirer is just somewhere near." Albert said making me think of it as his prank. I would seriously push him out of his chair if it was him messing around me.

I just couldn't believe someone was giving me those creepy notes everyday.

Mom was so excited knowing someone took an interest at me. I felt like I was in a hot seat that time. The dinner was a disaster—maybe in my point of view but not their's, especially Albert's.

This traitor.
