Chapter 06: FAMOUS GROUP

We were in the cafeteria and I was looking for Albert while struggling with the tray because of the crowd.

"Dammit. Where the hell is that moron?" I muttered while moving my head from side to side looking for Albert. He just went missing and I couldn't find a vacant seat to sit.

"Will!" I turned my head when I heard Albert who was sitting together with a group of guys and I just realized who they were as I walked closer.

It was Hal who I first recognized because of his height and then his group of friends.

"I couldn't find any vacant seat." Albert said and I placed my tray on the table as they shove their asses on the blue horizontal chair to fit my own.

"Hey." Hal greeted and I smiled.

"Thanks for letting us sit here." I said and they all nodded.

We kind of had an introduction in the middle of our lunch. Their circle composed of the most popular guys in school but they act like normal people. I mean, they're not assholes and doesn't act so high and might just because they have the good looks and money.

They were talking about hanging out tomorrow, Friday night, and one of them with the blackest eyes named Jason turned to me and Albert.

"How about you guys party with us?" Jason asked.

"I don't know." I said and glanced at Albert. He was obviously wearing a I want to party with the famous guys face. I think it depends with Albert if I go or not because I am only hitching a ride.

"Sure. We're in." Albert said.

"Great." Caleb, the most popular guy next to Hal, beamed at Albert's answer.

I glanced at Hal and he was kind of looking at me too making me forced a smile.

"Hey." Hal said making me frown secretly and I just nod at him.

Weird. He sounds like a broken record every time he opens his mouth.

"Another love note?" Albert asked and I absentmindedly threw the note in my locker and shut it close.

"It was a dad joke." I said and he chuckled as he placed his arm around the back of my shoulder.

"What is it?"

I chuckled. It wasn't a dad joke but only another quotes and I couldn't deny that I was starting to get used to it and I was always looking forward to it every morning.

"Why did the banana wear sunscreen?" I said and Albert frowned then chuckled.

"I dunno. Why?"

"Because it peels." I said and Albert suddenly burst out laughing, letting go of me. I also laughed with him.

"That's not the thing that was written in the note, right? You just made that up." He said.

"I didn't made it up. I heard it somewhere." I said and he nodded then laughed.

"Oh, shit!" Albert suddenly exclaimed making me glanced at him.

"What?" I asked as we walked to our room.

"I forgot to tell you last night. I can't go this Friday. We have some relative staying over for the night and mom want me there." He said and I nodded.

"Then it's a given, I can't also." I said. I couldn't even imagine hanging out with them. I am so out of their league.

"I'm sorry, man."

"The fuck, it's okay. I'll just sleep early."

Albert and I ended up joining the famous table again that lunch and they were treating us like were part of the group.

"We can't go with you tonight." I said and five sets of eyes turned to me.

"What? Why?" Alex asked. I think his most attractive feature were his dimples and girls were going crazy at him because of it.

"Albert can't go because of family related matters." I said and Albert nodded.

"Relatives coming over." Albert added.

"And you?" Hal asked.

"I can't go without Albert." I said.

Caleb chuckled.

"Are you like connected to each other?" Jett asked, who have a curly and messy hair but it suits him, in fact, it was his best feature.

"Are you like lovers?" Alex asked.

"Of course, not." I crunched my forehead.

"Will doesn't have someone to hitch a ride with." Albert said.

"That's it?" Jett asked and Jason snapped his fingers catching all our attentions.

"Whats your address?" Jason asked and Albert stated my address. "Hal can give you a ride."

"Yeah." Caleb agreed. "He always pass that road on his way home, right?"

I turned to Hal who looked at Caleb. "Yeah. I always do. I'll be there waiting at seven." He said.

"But—"

"Great!" Jett cut me, ending the discussing without even my approval and he turned to Albert. "You sure you don't wanna go?"

Albert shook his head. "I wish." He said.

It was the first time I am going to a party without Albert and I think I am in good hands as I scanned their good looking faces.

I was afraid that I would looked like a beggar beside them. I knew I was handsome but not as handsome and popular as them. Haha. I haven't reached that level yet
