Chapter 02: THE GUY IN LEATHER JACKET

I was running late for class. I hastily grabbed my book and binder from my locker and I jumped when I saw someone after closing my locker. He was hiding behind the locker door.

"Fuck!" I exclaimed.

It was Hal and I think he was planning on killing me right there with a heart attack. I stared at his piercing ocean blue eyes because I couldn't resist it. It gives off a calm feeling.

"Hey." He greeted. "You're from yesterday, right?"

"Yeah and I'm running late." I said and walked past him.

"You don't have to worry. Your prof will be late for class." He said making me look back at him.

"We're not in the same class, right?"

"No." He said and I nodded and turned around and continued walking to my class. I didn't know if I should believe him or not.

I went inside the classroom and my classmates were noisy because our prof wasn't there yet. I glanced at my watch and I was already ten minutes late and so was our prof.

I walked to my seat and looked at the one who was sitting at my back, Joshua, who was busy with his phone.

"Why Mrs. Price late?" I asked and he just shrugged without looking away from his phone.

She was never late. It was the first time. I settled on my seat and thought of what Hal said. He was right about our prof being late. I was about to take a nap when Mrs. Price went inside the room and apologized for being late then proceeded to the lecture.

It was Friday night and the cool kids goes out during Friday night and we happened to be one of those kids.

Albert brought his dad's car with him and I hitched a ride to the house where the party was held. We could already hear the blaring music outside the house as Albert parked at the side of the road because the lawn was already full of cars.

I didn't know the guy who threw the party personally but Albert got invited so I got invited too. The house was huge but no matter how huge it was, I bet it would still be crowded inside.

People were still going in as we walked to the front doors and slipped inside. It was dim and colorful party lights were the only light source. We slide into the crowd who were swinging and dancing with the beat of the music.

I wasn't surprise when Albert magically disappeared when I turned to look for him. I just walked to where the drinks were served. Some guy was pouring the red cups one by one with punch while people were lining up to grab it.

I lined up and I murmured my thanks when I received my drink and I slide inside the house deeper. It seems like I was lost because I didn't recognize all the faces there until a girl hooked her arm around mine and swayed her body while smirking.

I smiled at her and drank my drink in one gulp and I winced because the alcohol was strong. I wasn't expecting it. I dropped the cup and started dancing with the girl and the crowd.

"I'm Louise." She shouted because the music was loud.

"Lane?" I joked and she chuckled but I couldn't hear it. I just saw her.

"Miller." She corrected and I nodded while grinning. "You? Don't tell me your name's Clark." She drew a very huge smile as she wrapped her arms around my neck and leaned closer to me.

I chuckled. "Too bad. It's Will." I said, introducing myself.

She was pretty and I wouldn't mind having fun with her tonight.

"Well, Will's cooler than Clark." She smiled and I laughed.

"I know." I said and grabbed the red cup that was raised by someone I didn't know, afraid that he will spill it with the crowd getting crazy.

"Hey." He yelled and I just chugged it immediately and gave back the cup to him, empty.

"Thanks." I screamed and he just shook his head.

I went back to dancing with Louise and I didn't know why I already felt drunk when I just drank only two cups.

"Fuck." I muttered and squeezed my eyes shut. I think that drink had something. It wasn't that strong and I was a little alarmed when I thought of drugs. Maybe that boy poured something.

Am I roofied?

"Are you okay?" Louise asked and I nodded but took a step back and turned around only to bump on someone.

I glanced to look who it was and I was surprised to see Hal and he was wearing his usual outfit, a black leather jacket. His hair was tied half in ponytail and he was staring down at me since he was a six footer and I am only five ten.

I didn't know he would be there.

"Hey. You again?" I said.
