Chapter 11: The Witch

"W-witch?" I muttered "Witches exist too?"

"Of course they exist and Juliana is the witch around here. She has been around for centuries but doesn't look a day over 40. She used to practice black magic which aged her rather quickly but since the cove incident she has switched to white magic and has since regained some of her youth." Kyler announced.

Fin snarled "That is hard to believe last time I saw her she looked around 60. And the cove incident is the exact reason I do not want her near Laura! She has done nothing but harm my family. She killed my mother for goddess sake and then proceeded to curse my father and open that cove signing his death warrant as well!"

Kyler and Anna didn't even flinch while Monkey and I looked between the three wide eyed. "S-she killed your mother?" I questioned hesitantly while looking up at Fin.

He just shook his head and rubbed his temples. "Yes she did, all because my mother didn't want to mate with her son who was her mate. My mother had wanted to stay married to my piece of shit father rather than leave him and be with her heartless mate. So Juliana cursed her to die a slow painful death but not long after she died did my father go on a rampage and killed her son for the death of my mother. Juliana went insane after that and cursed my father and opened the cove saying that if my father wanted my mother back he just had to survive a day in the cove.

"We all know how that turned out. She knew what was in there and almost got me killed in the process. I was so young I had no idea any of this was going on till I got older and my aunt told me the truth."

"Fin I'm so sorry that's awful. Why do we need to see Juliana anyway?" I asked while stroking Fin's hand.

"I can faintly smell a witch on you Queen Laura it wasn't there before or it was too faint for me to notice but I believe you have been cursed or bewitched. Juliana may be able to tell us why and if there are any side effects to it that we haven't uncovered yet." Kyler said calmly.

Fin snapped his head up to look at Kyler and then to me with wide concerning eyes. Before he hung his head back down and grumbled "Fine, find her and bring her here immediately. I don't want anything to happen to Laura so you better believe that she has changed. If she tries anything with her I swear to the Goddess I will die trying to kill her." His voice broken and angry by the end.

Kyler nodded and put a hand on Fin's shoulder before rushing out the door. Monkey was still in a confused concerned daze and Anna looked worried. "What the fuck did we get ourselves into Bell?" Monkey blurted out while shaking his head trying to process everything. "Next thing y'all are gonna tell us is that Bigfoot and fairies exist." He joked trying to ease the tension in the room.

I shook my head with a smile while Anna giggled and exclaimed "fairies don't exist but Bigfoot does. There are several tribes throughout the national parks. They are just very good at hiding and are actually kinda like chameleons."

"Oh my God! My life has been a lie! I feel like I just walked into a book of all mythological creatures!" Monkey huffed.

Anna laughed at his bewilderment while I just stood there clinging to Fin shocked. What else about our world don't we know or have thought to be a lie but was actually a distorted truth.

"Okay this is too much excitement for one night. Let's go to bed Mia Bella." Fin announced dragging Monkey and I from our confused state.

I barely nodded my mind racing with a million possibilities as we all said goodnight and I followed Fin to our bedroom.

God I thought this was going to be a nice relaxing night making love to my new found mate but that's not gonna happen now. I thought.
