I didn't bother Tyson again that night, nor did I bother with Lilly. He could deal with it and honestly I didn't want to see or talk to him for a good long while. So after the conversation in the kitchen I went straight back to bed. Yes, to the bed. Tyson doesn't deserve to sleep on the bed anymore so I decided to take it in. He can have the couch.

It took forever to fall asleep, the tears from previously had stained the pillows and it was all wet against the side of my face. I made a mental note to clean them before Tyson could see it. Outside, the storm had ceased but still it continued to rain. I couldn't help but let my thoughts wonder. I pictured Sarah and Rowley and couldn't help but think that I was stupid for trading partners. It'd be so much easier with Rowley, and he was so nice and Tyson was so..compliated. Eventually I blocked the thoughts from my brain and let the sleep take over my body.

I woke up to baby screams filling the house. Fear made my insides turn and twist. Lilly had never screamed like that before. I threw the rugs off of me and bolted out of the room, exploding into the loungeroom. I didn't waste time wondering where Tyson was (he wasn't on the couch) instead I hurried over to Lilly's crib. She lay on her back and tears were streaming down her face. She had thrown up all over her clothes, her face was read and her screams were coming out in short breathes. She was sick.

I picked her up gently and carefully, holding her against my chest. "It's alright Lil." I said to her quietly, rocking her. I looked around the loungeroom, where was Tyson?

"Tyson!" I called, hearing my voice echo around the house. I waited a minute before trying again, "Tyson!?!" I called louder. Eventually I heard a voice come from the bathroom.

"Maya I'm in here..." it sounded like Tyson, but it was rasped and quiet. Fear once again coursed through my body as I hurriedly trotted to the bathroom, Lilly screaming in my arms. Tyson was leaning against the bath, knees pulled to his chest, head leaning on his knees. As he heard me enter he looked up. His face was red and his hair was sweaty.

"Tyson are you alright?" I asked numbly, rocking Lilly back and forth. He shook his head and looked at Lilly, who was in the same state as him.

"I must have caught a bug last night....... when I went out with some friends ........ then Lilly must have caught it....... I don't feel so good...."

I felt my heart hammer. Most sicknesses can be fatal to a young baby because they have weak immune systems...

"I think I better call Mrs. Holler, this can easily get dangerously out of head Tyson. Are you alright? Do you need anything?" Supporting Lilly with one hand I reluctantly reached out and gently touched the side of his face. He was burning up.

"I'll be fine." he said weakly, forcing a fake smile. I didn't believe him, but I knew Lilly could be in danger so I quickly left the bathroom, stalked into my bedroom and grabbed my phone off the bedside table. Mrs. Holler's number was first on my contacts so I pressed it quickly. The rest of the day was a bit of a blurr...

Mrs. Holler arrived shortly after, and taking one look at both Tyson and Lilly she quickly decided they both needed to go to the hospital. Since she didn't have a babyseat installed in her car she decided it'd be best to call an ambulance. After handing her my phone, she made the call, and the ambulance pulled up beside the house in a matter of minutes. Tyson was looking slightly better and he managed to wobble up to the ambulance and climb inside. He was directed to a bed where he laid down. I could see he was very weak.. The ambulance people took Lilly away and put her in a special baby bed in the ambulance. Before they left, a man looked at me and asked a question that I didn't know how to answer.

"Are you coming?" he said. I looked at Tyson lying down on the bed, I heard him groan. In a way I was still angry, but if I was this sick I wouldn't want to be alone.

"Yes, I am." I said quickly, climbing up to sit beside Tyson's bed. I looked at him awkwardly as he turned his head to face me.

"You don't have to come Princess." he said, forcing a small smile. I shook my head, "I wouldn't want to be alone if I was this sick." I answered.

As we drove away two medics began to put some tubes into his arms that pushed liquid through as well as a monitor that kept track of his heart, making a beep beep sound. I kept asking if they knew what was wrong with them but they simply looked at eachother with worried expressions on their faces, which made my  stomache curl up into a knot. I looked down as Tyson only to find he was already looking at me. His eyes were becoming tired, you could tell. The medics shouted at the driver to drive faster. Worry cursed through me.

"You know I wasn't  joking, right?" he said in a voice that was bearly audible. I looked at him with a confused expression on my face. "Joking about what?" I asked, a hint of fear in my voice.

"Yesterday ..... when I asked you out ......" his voice was kept breaking between the words. I didn't want to hear what he had to say about yesterday because honestly I didn't want to remember it.

"Your face.... was pure shock.... and for a second.... I thought you were going to reject me..... so I said I was joking...." My eyes grew huge for a second and my breath got caught in my throat.

"But I wasn't...."

And then then the monitor flat lined.

WOW was that the biggest break ever. Sorry about not updating! In case no one knows what a 'flat line' is, it's what the heart monitor does once the patients heart stops beating..
