Epilogue

Four Months Later

***Please read the authors note at end***

Walking down the steps, I smiled when I saw my dad sitting in the kitchen, his cup of coffee where it's been since I can remember, and his newspaper in front of his nose.

"Daddy?" I spoke softly, leaning against the counter a few feet away from where he sat.

Lowering his paper, my dad brought his eyes up to mine and sent me a smile, "Yes?" He asked, placing his paper just off to the right of his coffee. Biting my lip, I pushed away from the counter, and made my way closer to my dad, stealing the seat beside him. Opening my mouth to begin talking, my dad quickly cut me off, "You aren't pregnant, right?" He blurted, honest concern spread across his features.

Feeling a deep blush take over my cheeks, I shook my head, "No dad, I'm not," I confirmed, hearing my dad let out a deep breath.

"Well that's a relief, I'm way too young to be a grandfather!" He  exclaimed, picking up his coffee cup and bringing it to his lips, taking a long drink, "Now what did you want then?" He wondered, placing his coffee carefully back on the counter.

Smiling, I brushed my hair behind my ear, "I hope you don't mind, but I invited Nicole and Mel over," I told him, a smile spread across my face as I watched my dad's eyes brighten.

"As long as Nicole brings the little nugget, I'm perfectly alright with that," He told me truthfully.

My dad has a fondness towards Nicole's baby, from the day we hurried home to be at the hospital, and we all cooed over the little thing, my dad had always loved the little nugget, as he called 'em.

Sitting and talking with my dad for a while, I jumped up from my seat when the doorbell rang, and all but ran to the door. 

Pulling the door open wide, I smiled when my eyes fell on my two best friends, and the most adorable little boy in the world, Colton.

Holding out my arms, I quickly took Colton from Nicole's arms and held him close to my chest, smiling as he looked up at me with his big blue eyes just like his uncles, and apparently like his dad's too, or so Nicole says . 

"Hello to you too," Nicole laughed, drawing my eyes up from her son.

Smiling, I shrugged, "It's not my fault your baby is so cute," I cooed, getting Colton to smile up at me, a soft laugh coming from his lips. "But hello, both of you," I smiled, rocking Colton in my arms.

Walking into the living room, I  swear my dad almost fell out of his seat to make his way over to where I stood holding Colton. 

Stealing him from my arms, my dad smiled as he talked nonsense to the baby who didn't understand a word he was saying.

Glancing at my two best friends as my dad acted odd towards one of their babies, I couldn't help but smile as they did the same, "Hi Mr. Tyson," Nicole greeted my dad.
