Soon after Diaval had finished his breakfast Maleficent sent him on another mission.

"Diaval, I do believe dear Aurora should have an eye kept on her. I trust you shall not fail me?"

"No mistress, you can count on me."

"Very well, raven." You lift your hand to transform Diaval but are stopped by Maleficent. "I want you to go two, I have found I can rely on you full heartedly, do not fail me."

"Y-you want. . me to go?"

"I do believe that's what I said, yes."

"As you wish, Maleficent."

"Thank you, (f/n)."

You transform Diaval into a raven and watch as he spreads his wings. He takes off into the sky, gliding on the wind. Turning from Maleficent, you begin to walk.

Every now and then Diaval would turn back, to make sure you were still there, before flying back in the direction the castle. Once Reaching the territory of the humans you signal for Diaval to come over to you. He lands on your shoulder, rustling his feathers. "Right," You start, mapping out the castle. "fly through the village and wait for me by the castle gates."

"Squwark!"

"Well, go on then." Diaval swoop to the ground, stamping his feet and impatiently hopping from one foot to the other. "Squwa-"

He is cut off by your fingers waving him into his human form. He looks at you with worried eyes. "There will be guards surroundings the castle and village. They know what you look like, they will have you head."

"Relax, pretty bird."

"No, I won't relax! How do you expect me to relax when you're about to walk straight into your death?! Please," His voice grows quiet after his sudden out burst. "just let me do this alone."

"But Maleficent sent us both. What does one tell her when asked?"

"One shall have all the information if one stays here. Please (f/n), I shall tell you all there is to tell, if you just stay here."

"I don't know Diaval. . . tell me, why do you care so?"

"I don't want you to get hurt. . . I-I mean Maleficent cares more for her fairy friend than she does a raven."

You suck in a big gulp of air and look at him I'm silence, making up your mind. Finally you pull your face and sigh "Okay Diaval but please, be careful."

A relieved smile covered his face as he lets out the breath he didn't know he was holding. "Thank you. Wait here and I will come back and tell you everything I hear."

You nod before waving your fingers and watching as Diaval flies into the distance.

He flapped his glossy, black wings, enjoying the feeling of the wind in his feathers. He Squwarks relieved that you decided to listen to him. God knows what he would have done if you had. . .

'No!' Diaval told himself. 'Why would her death bother me? She said so herself, I owe her nothing.'

'Oh, you know why. You just won't admit it. You're a stubborn bird.'

'Oh don't be so stupid!'

He shook his little bird head clearing the voices from his head and focusing on the task at hand. Locate and observe the hatching.

He circles the highest point of the castle before landing on one of the many stone window ledges of the castle. He hopes from ledge to ledge, finding nothing. Then he stumbles upon the king and queen, deep in conversation. He tilt his head, beak slightly open, listening intently.
