Chapter 16: The Reunion Aftermath

Miley's POV:

Nick and I woke up the next morning, I think on the late side.  We ate our breakfast, and then decided to check our phones.  The staff had sent us the photos and videos and we picked out the best to put on our Instagram.

The videos we picked out were of our performances and Nick captioned the ones where he, Joe, and Kevin performed (both times were with me) with: "Temporary JoBro reunion, along with my beautiful wife," tagging his brothers and me in it.  He also posted the ones of his solo performance.

I had posted the videos of my performances as well, including the ones where I performed with my hubby and brothers-in-law, with the captions:  "Mixing it in with some old hits and some newer ones," tagging Kevin, Joe, and Nick in it.  I even found a video of the thing where we shared good and bad experiences and posted that with the caption:  "About last night . . . all the Disney celebrities, past and present (except for Zac), came together at Disneyland for a reunion.  No, Disney didn't know (except for the staff present at Disneyland) in case anyone was wondering.  Anyways, here we all shared some experiences we had, good and bad.  #disneyfamily.  #disneyreunion."  I checked the celebrities who did post stuff, Nick as well.

Dove had posted the two selfies she took with us, the first with me, the second with me and Nick.  She had captioned hers:  "Yo, there was a Disney reunion at Disneyland and it was legit fun.  Ran into these two darlings here, the former Miss Montana and her hubby the former JoBro member Nick.  Such legends.  Good meets evil (mwahahaha, it's Hannah/Miley and Nick meeting Mal here," tagging me and Nick in it.  I commented, "LOL," with a heart emoji.

Selena had posted a selfie with Demi and put as a caption, "Disney reunion at Disneyland.  Love this girl to death.  I also love the other celebrities that were there."

Demi had posted a couple of pictures, one with Joe (hmm, that looks like the place where they went to talk in the background), one with Selena, and one with all six of us (meaning the JoBros, me, Selena, and her), captioning it, "Disney legends meet other Disney legends.  And a Camp Rock reunion lol."  I think some of the newer Disney celebrities made it into the background (accidentally for some, others photobombed it).

We continued to scroll through the millions of posts about it and then we put on the news.

"Seems like there was a secret Disney reunion at Disneyland yesterday.  Tons of celebrities who worked with the franchise or continue to work with them were seen heading to the park.  Some celebrities even posted about the event, including Dove Cameron, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez.  Miley and Nick Jonas had posted the most about the event.  Their posts included pictures of the event and videos of their performances, including a video in which Miley shared good and bad experiences from her Disney days and had everyone else do the same thing.  Miley, who used to be one of the head figures for the franchise by starring as Miley Stewart, a regular teen who lives a double life as popstar Hannah Montana in the hit Disney show with the same name, had performed some of her old hits and newer songs and even read off what people had written.  The whole Miley-Nick-Selena triangle was confronted first when Selena had written for her bad experience that she shouldn't have dated her friend's then-ex, now-husband.  Miley brushed that off, as the two are besties and remained so when Selena dated Nick about a decade ago.  She continued to read and the triangle was confronted again when her brother-in-law Kevin Jonas, there with his wife Danielle and daughters Alena and Valentina, wrote for his experience that the t-shirt he wore in 2008 that read 'Team Selena and Demi' should have read 'Team Miley, Selena, and Demi' as he had regrets over the whole thing and he's friends with all three of the Disney queens.  Miley reacted to that one with a much better reaction than the one to is mileycyrus.  I also left out the @, so I don't accidently tag anyone).  The 'Malibu' singer, along with her husband, 'Jealous' singer Nick Jonas, sang their duet 'Before the Storm' for the first time in years.  Brothers-in-law Kevin and Joe Jonas, there with Joe's wife Sophie Turner and their children, even joined the performance for, as Nick's caption for the post of the video of the performance reads, a temporary JoBro reunion.  The singer-actor duo even promised a follow up duet sometime in the future, as the song only now tells about 1/3 to 1/5 of their story.  The Jonas Brothers and Miley even sung 'We Got The Party With Us,' also for the first time in a long time and first time that Miley has not dressed up as her popstar character.  During the performance, the married duo Miley and Nick recreated and even revamped their infamous PDA from 2007, where they went up to the front of the stage.  Miley ruffled her husband's hair, still the same old habit, and kissed him, not on the cheek as the first time went, but on the lips.  They also hugged and went back down to Kevin and Joe.  They ended the reunion with the song, but other celebrities have taken their turn to perform.  The stars of the Descendants movies Dove Cameron, who posted adorable selfies with Miley and Nick on Instagram, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, and Cameron Boyce performed all of their songs from all three of the hit movie franchise.  Dove performed solo with her single 'If Only,' which is from the first one.  Demi Lovato also performed some of her songs and even sung with her friend Joe Jonas their iconic duets from the Camp Rock movies, but during the performance with Joe, there was some total awkwardness between the exes, who was actually an on-screen and off-screen couple, as they haven't performed the songs in a long time, especially the two from the second movie since they dated.  We hope everything was ok, which they seemed to be since in Demi's post was a selfie with Joe and then a selfie with the five other Disney legends and alumni Miley, Selena, Kevin, Joe, and Nick.  Selena and Demi, who have been besties since they both starred on Barnie, performed their duet 'One and the Same,' which is from their movie Princess Protection Program.  Selena had performed 'Wolves,' where she finally revealed what the track is about!!!!  Turns out no one really got it right and it was about her journey as a Disney queen.  The wolves were symbolically Disney themselves.  It sounded like everyone had fun at this Disney reunion.  Miley and Nick even brought their little ones, Adam, who's a year old, and Destiny, who's a month old, both of whom seemed to have a good time as well.  Disneyland released the official photos and videos this morning on their website.  On their social media pages, they captioned the ones of Adam and Destiny with 'The next generation of Disney legends.'  Miley liked it, but she commented, 'My kids are not going to be Disney legends.  Nick and I are raising them out of the spotlight as much as we can.  It's not easy with the parents both being celebrities!'  She was probably joking, but as she goes in her hit Disney show, Miley like a puma, so it's possible that Momma Jonas is just being protective of her little ones.  Papa Jonas, which still belongs to Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., but applies to Kevin, Joe, and Nick as well, as Nick commented, replying to his wife's comment, 'The closest my kids are going near to Disney is watching Disney shows and movies, going to Disneyland, and dressing up as Disney characters.  Maybe taking after mom and dad with singing songs from the movies and shows.  Sorry for the shutdown.'  This caused some disappointment from fans, but also some understanding as well.  Some Twitter users, including celebrities who have been in similar situations, are siding with Miley and Nick on their decision, tweeting out 'It's their decision as parents.  They can make decisions on how to raise their children, as long as they are all happy and healthy,' 'Look at Miley and Nick's history, both dating and work.  They're right in not allowing their offspring to work for their former employer!', and 'Work and personal life is not a good mix!  Miley and Nick made a good decision in not letting Adam, Destiny, and whatever children they may continue to have work for Disney!'  Meanwhile others are siding against the couple, tweeting out 'Let them grow up to be whoever they want to be,' 'When they grow older, they can make their own decision,' and 'Miley and Nick are overprotective of their kids.  Just let the kids be whoever they want to be.'  Some, including some celebrities and close friends and family of the couple, even Demi Lovato, have chosen to remain neutral, tweeting out, 'Miley and Nick are making good decisions as parents in both ways.  They are not letting their kids work for Disney for whatever reasons they have, most likely personal, considering their history.  AND they are letting the kids grow, be whoever they want to be and make their own decisions.  But remember that the kids aren't old enough to make decisions yet.  Adam is only a year old and Destiny a month old.  Mom and Dad are very smart people, and are very good parents.  Just let them be,' and 'Leave the whole thing alone.  Some people just overreact, some people are just trolls, and some people just have nothing to do with their lives.  Stop attacking the couple and their kids!!!!'  Miley and Nick have not responded to the criticism and support of their decision.  The most important thing right now is the family of four enjoyed the Disney reunion as well as the other celebrities in attendance!"
