Shadow Of Mine

A shadow, a shadow, all there but not,
Faceless, face this with all you've got

All around the pillars continue to rise
The shadow held under their gazing eyes

All built up but empty inside
Never quite willingly along for the ride

Thrown into the fray, with total disregard
The world is tough, society's cold, and life is hard

Roam the streets, as to what they discarded
That shadow, against it all from when it started

Odd, odd, a shadow cast as an outcast
Dreams and illusions too distant to grasp

Alone then, travel on forward
A mind set with a goal to move toward

But the race never ends, there's more to be run
A shadow kept in the darkness and burned by the sun

Where to then, O shadow of mine?
What home will you ever find...
