Chapter 26

Amethyst’s P.O.V

I couldn’t help but smirk as I watched the Crimson Blood Pack train, well, try to train. It wasn’t hard to see why they desperately needed our help.

I grinned happily when I saw Josh knock Lucas out. Ha! And he called himself an Alpha’s son.

Stop laughing Josh said through the mind link, not trying very hard to hide his amusement

Or what, I countered, they’ll attack me? I snorted A pup in our Pack could defeat them.

Josh just laughed before shutting down the link.

After a few more minutes, I walked away. As amusing as it is to see these idiots embarrass themselves, I was getting bored. Besides, my Wolf kept growling every time Josh hurt Lucas. It wouldn’t be long before she broke free and hurt Josh.

I was getting ready to go for a run when my phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Hey, Myst, it’s Adam”

“Oh, hey Adam, what’s up?” I asked him. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t help but smile softly at his voice. Though I wanted to use him to hurt Katie, I didn’t know if I’d be able to go through it. Adam was a great guy and if I broke his heart, would I be any better than Lucas?

“I just wanted to tell you that the project is done” he replied nervously. It wasn’t exactly a secret that he had a crush on me. A part of me liked the fact that he liked me. I mean, what girl wouldn’t feel flattered? But a bigger part of me was swimming in guilt. I wasn’t exactly the type of girl to settle down. I didn’t have enough trust in men. If I settled down, I’d be afraid that they would end up hurting or betraying me. Sure, I loved the males in my Pack, but that was different. They all had Mates waiting for them, and I wasn’t going to take someone else’s Mate like mine was taken.

“You didn’t have to do that” I said “I could’ve helped you.”

“That’s okay” he answered softly “I just wanted you to know so you wouldn’t worry about it.”

“Thanks. I guess.”

“Do you want to celebrate?” he asked me, sounding hopeful.

“Sure. What do you want to do?”

“I’m not sure. I thought you might an idea.”

I was about to tell him no, when I remembered the new club Jenna discovered last week. We’ve been dying to try it, and now was the perfect opportunity.

“Listen, my friends and I are going to this new club. DO you want to come?”

“Sound like fun. What time should I be there?”

“By seven. We’re going to go eat and then we’ll go clubbing.”

See you then. Bye”

“Bye”
