~Chapter 5~

Amethyst P.O.V

“Katie?” I could hear the pain in my voice as I spoke that one word. “What are you doing here?”

“I came to tell everyone about your lies” she answered, her emotionless eyes staring into my pain-filled ones.

“What lies?” I asked “You know that Lucas really is my mate!”

“Stop lying!” Katie snapped, “You and I both know you are using him just so you can gain power. He is not your mate, and you are nothing more than a lying,  conniving little sk*nk.”

“Why are you saying those awful things? I thought you were my best friend!” I felt tears fill my eyes as I looked into the eyes of the girl who has always been there for me, the girl who gave me a reason to live, a girl  considered a sister.

“I’m not lying. You’re the liar, and everyone knows it” she answered.

Before I could respond, Alpha Michael interrupted me.

“Enough! Katherine Jones, do you swear on this pack, that all you say is true?”

Katie hesitated for a minute, before responding. “Yes, I swear.”

“Good, this makes everything a lot easier” he said, with a small smile on his face “Blade, you can come out now.”

I froze when I saw a strange man come out of the forest, surrounded by at least ten other men. Blade, the leader, looked to be around his mid-twenties. He had dark brown hair, and dark, almost black, eyes. He looked dangerous, and his aura was screaming at me to run as far from him as possible.

“AHH, Michael, I’m glad you kept your promise. Now, it’s my turn I keep mine” he said, with a smirk on his face “Boys, take the girl.”

Before I could process what was going on, three of his men came up to me and pulled me to Blade’s side.

“What’s going on?” I whispered as I tried to pull away from the hunter’s grasp.

“Look, I made a deal with the Hunters. They would leave our pack alone if I gave them a wolf to study and experiment on. I wasn’t going to do it, but when I heard you were making up these rumors about being my son’s mate, I decided to give you away. It would be a win-win deal. The Hunters get a test subject and we get to get rid of you AND we get to prevent a war. Isn’t this the best possible solution?” he asked with an arrogant smirk on my face.

I looked around hoping to see laughing pack mates, telling me this was all a joke. When I saw nothing but smirks, and looks of satisfaction I realized this was really happening. I felt pain fill my heart as I realized how much this pack truly hated me.

“Please don’t do this!” I couldn’t help but cry out as the men began to drag me away. “Please! I’ll do anything, but please I’m begging you HELP ME!”

My eyes darted between my alpha, my stepmother, my brother, my EX-best friend, and finally my mate. I stared at them, my eyes begging them to help me. When it finally dawned on me that they weren’t going to help, I quickly looked at the rest of the pack. They would help a fourteen year old begging for help…right?

WRONG!

As soon as I saw the smirks and sneers I  knew it was no use. Nobody was going to help me.

I tried to get away from my captors’ arms, but I knew it wouldn’t help. A scrawny, weak girl like me was no match for the 6’3 Hunters holding her. I couldn’t help but wish that this would finally be the moment I shifted. Miracles did happen every day, right?

I closed I eyes and concentrated.

No matter how hard I tried, nothing happened. I had to finally face the horrible truth. I was never going to shift. I should’ve known. Nothing good can ever happen to me. I was destined to live a sad, pain-filled life. I quickly blinked away my thoughts as I realized that she was being shoved inside a van. I looked back hoping, praying that someone would help me.

But no one ever did.
