8.I'll Always Be There For You,I Promise You That

Ben pulled at his hair
"W-What?" Ben was confused and shocked.
"Where is she?" Asked Ben very worried. Carson spoke
"She's at the hospital here in downtown New York." Ben gave Grace her phone and Emma looked at Ben
"What's wrong Ben?" Ben looked at Emma and Grace
"My moms been shot." Ben started running towards the street
"We have to go with him Grace" said Emma as she looked on at Ben running.
"No! No! No! Not you too!" Ben ran into an alley and put on his mask and started swinging to the hospital. Ben swung faster and faster with each web he shot
"Can't lose you too!" Ben shed a tear behind his mask. He was now only five minutes from the hospital. He saw Carson's cop car in the parking lot and he landed on top of the parking lot. He took off his suit and webbed it to the side of the wall. He had his clothes under the suit and he walked into the elevator and went down to the main office. He wiped his tears and made a fist
"Who did this..." He said quietly and angry. The elevator reached the main office and Ben approached the lady at the desk.
"I'm here to see Jessica Allen" the lady responded to Ben
"I'm sorry sir but she just got here,she'll be undergoing surgery. I'm sorry." Ben looked at her and desperately said
"Please! I'm her son!" The lady looked at Ben
"I'm truly sorry sir but,you'll have to come back tommorow." Ben looked down at the floor and closed his eyes when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"He's with me miss." Said Carson to the lady. Ben looked up and turned to see Carson.
"Come Ben I'll take you to her." Carson walked to the elevator and Ben followed him. They entered the elevator and Carson pushed the fourth floor button.
"How did you find out?" Asked Ben to Carson.
"I was walking over to your house because I was looking for Grace. I saw someone break a window to your house and I instantly ran to your house. There was a gun shot and I jumped through the window to see your mother on the floor bleeding. The culrpit ran and I decided to help your mom instead of run after the shooter. I put your mother in my patrol car and rushed her to the hospital. That's when I called Grace to tell you what had happened." Ben nodded and clenched his fist. Carson put his hand on his shoulder and told him
"I know this is hard Ben,but I'm here for you." Ben nodded again and said
"Thank you...thank you for being there." Carson nodded and looked at Ben
"I don't want you to worry Ben,everything's going to be alright." Ben looked at him and said
"I hope."
The elevator stopped at the fourth floor and Carson got out followed by Ben. Carson led him to room 252 where his mother was getting preped for surgery.

Emma and Grace had taken a cab to the hospital.
"Please everything be okay" said Grace worried. Emma looked at her and said
"No matter what we have to be there for him,no matter what." Grace nodded. They got out of the taxi and gave the driver his fair.
"Can you call your dad to see what room she's in?" Aksed Emma.
"Yeah,sure." Grace got her phone and called Carson. Carson picked up
"Dad what room is Ben's mom in?"
"She's in room 252 on the fourth floor."
"Thanks dad." Grace walked into the elevator and pushed the fourth floor button. Emma walked in to the elevator and put her hands in her pocket. She felt the cartridge in the pocket of her costume and thought to herself
"Oh...right. Maybe now isn't the best time,but maybe I can help him." The elevator started to go up to the fourth floor. The elevator got to the fourth floor and opened its doors. Emma and Grace could see Ben sitting at the bench with Carson. They ran out of the elevator and hugged Ben. Ben hugged them both back. Carson got up from the bench and let the friends comfort Ben.
"We're here for you Ben" said Emma.
"No matter what" said Grace.
"Thank you, it means a lot to me that you guys are even here." Ben said as he looked at both Emma and Grace. Emma looked at Ben
"Of course we'd be here for you Ben." They all stopped hugging and Carson called out to the group of friends.
I'll drive you kids home,I'll be waiting in the car." Emma looked at Grace and said
"Can you give us a minute Grace?" Grace nodded and said
"Sure,I'll be in the car." Grace went into the elevator and went to the garage.
"Ben, I know this may not be the best time but." She cleared her throat nervous to tell him.
"I-I found this when you left my house the other day." She reached into her pocket and pulled out the web cartridge and showed it to him
"Are you?" She didn't want to say it. Ben looked at the cartridge and then looked at her
"Yes...Yes Em" he said quietly and almost with regret. She looked at Ben and she tried to make out a sentence but couldn't, she was in shock.
"I didn't want to tell you because" he looked at his mother's hospital room
"I didn't want to endanger you..." Emma nodded and then gave him the cartridge
"It's okay Ben,I'll help you. I'll help you every step of the way." Ben looked into her eyes
"No Em...This isn't your responsibility,it's mine." Emma looked into Ben's eyes and then kissed him. They both closed their eyes and then they stopped.
"Everyone needs Help Ben,even Spider-Man" she said quietly to him. Ben grabbed a bag and looked at Emma
"Let's get going." They walked into the elevator and went up to the garage. Emma held Ben's hand and they looked at each other when Emma spoke
"I'll be here for you no matter what." Ben nodded and gave her a kiss on the cheek
"I'll always be there for you,I will always be there to take care of you, I promise you that." They hugged and the elevator door opened to the top of the garage. They walked out and Ben grabbed his suit from the side of the wall and put it in the blue bag. They walked down the stairs and got to the next floor and saw Carson's police car.
They walked to it and sat in the back. Carson looked at Ben through the rear view mirror and said
"You're not staying in your house alone Ben, you're more than welcome to stay with us for the night." Ben nodded and said
"Thank you Mr.Perryman."
"It's no problem Ben." Grace looked at Carson and said
"Do you mind if Emma stays with us too?" Carson looked at Grace and said
"Sure,Saves me money on gas" he chuckled a little bit. Ben and Emma held hands and and Carson started to drive. Emma looked inside the blue bag and saw Ben's mask and she thought to herself and remembered what Ben said
