5. Change in Luck

Ben and Emma walked into science class when the new teacher Martin Lee looked at Emma and said
"Im assuming you are Emma? Emma Hardy?" He asked. Emma replied
"Yep. Thats me." Mr.Lee looked at Ben and said
"I understand you don't have a partner anymore after Joel's tragedy. So I'm making you and Emma partners." Ben and Emma looked at each other and both said at the same time
"Sounds great." Mr.Lee looked at Ben
"I see you are a very good student so I presume you will have no trouble with this project." Ben walked to his seat next Grace. Emma sat infront of Ben. Grace looked at Ethan as he stared down Ben with subtle angry eyes. Grace looked at the board as Mr.Lee projected the notes for the project. After class Ben and Emma walked out of school when Emma said
"You know what how about we skip dinner today and we go to the Halloween festival tomorrow?"
Ben replied
"That sounds awesome"
Both Ben and Emma nodded and they waited for the bus. Emma spoke again and said
"You wouldn't mind coming over to my place do you?" Asked Emma
"I mean sure but,what for?" Asked Ben
"To help me with my costume" said Emma. Ben responded
"Sure, sounds like fun."

"Are sure your contact will keep the spider distracted for hour delivery?" Asked a man over the phone.
"Im positive,he will not get in the way." The mysterious man hung up and looked onto his computer screen
"You wont ruin this Spider-man."
Ben and Emma rode the bus after school to Emma house when Ben said
"So what costume do you have in mind?" Emma replied
"I don't know yet but thats why you're here. What about you Ben? Do you have a costume?" Thats whem Ben thought to himself
"Halloween is the only time of the year I can wear my suit with the mask off,maybe this wont be so bad after all." He nodded and said
"I do." Emma smiled at him and said
"Jeez already prepared I see." Meanwhile Ethan and Grace were in Ethans car when Grace said
"So Ethan do you want to go to the Halloween festival tomorrow?" Ethan looked at her turning his head to the right while still driving and said
"I can't, I have some business to take care of on Halloween, but you can still go, all be it by yourself." Emma thought to herself
"Maybe....Ben would want to go? But he's going with that new girl..." She had a sad expression on her face as she got out of Ethans car and walked to her front door. She then quietly said to herself "I should've just said yes to Ben.." Ben and Emma got off the bus and walked down the street to Emma's house.
"Jeez you live pretty far Em" said Ben.
"Yeah but it's not toooo bad you know" she said in a happy tone. Emma unlocked her front door and Ben entered after her.
"Hi honey" said Emma's mom Felicia Hardy. They hugged and Felicia noticed Ben and Ben held out his hand for a hand shake
"Hi misses Hardy, I'm Ben,Ben Allen"
Felicia shook his hand and said "My god what a strong grip you have Ben." They stopped shaking hands and Emma grabbed Ben's arm and pulled him into her room upstairs "We'll be in here working on homework mom!" Shouted Emma.
"Okay! I'll call you two when dinners ready!" Felicia shouted back. Emma closed her door and locked it. Ben set his back pack down on the floor.
"So where do we start?" Asked Ben. Emma replied
"Well what do you like best? Vampire,Zombie,Or Pirate?" Ben answered
"Well Zombies are over done, Pirates haven't been relevant since Jack Sparrow, and Vampire? That's a pretty safe choice." Emma laughed and punched Ben in the arm
"Sheesh brutaly honest dont you think?" Ben shrugged and laughed.
"Vampire it is" said Emma. She pulled out vampire outfit from her closet.
"You just have one of those in your closet?" Asked Ben jokingly. She looked at Ben
"Shut up." Ben laughed.
"So what are you gonna wear for Halloween Ben?" Asked Emma.
"Spiderman" said Ben confidently. Emma chuckled and looked at Ben
"That'll be interesting" said Emma. Emma looked at Ben
"Turn around Ben, I'm gonna change into my costume, when I'm done tell me what you think." Ben turned around and looked towards the corner of the wall. Ben waited until Emma was finished.
"Okay you can turn now." Ben turned around and Ben's eyes opened slightly
"Wow....just wow" Ben slow clapped.
Emma walker slowly towards Ben and she put her arms over his shoulders
"You just hit the jackpot" Emma kissed Ben and Ben kissed back as they both closed their eyes. They stopped kissing and Ben looked into Emma's green eyes
"So we're dating now?" Asked Ben
"Yes Ben,yes" she chuckled at his quirkiness.
"Emma, Ben! Dinners ready!" Called Felicia.
"You go down there, I'll be right down when I change back." Ben nodded and walked down to the dining table.
