Don;t cry, my love
for it kills me inside
to see you in pain
and being helpless against it
keep smiling, my love
the smile that lights up your face
the smile that makes your eyes twinkle
A sight more beautiful than any other
your head on my shoulder
my arms around you
I know you're shattered
But I'm desperately trying to hold your pieces together
with each tear escaping from your eyes
with each tremble of your body
my heart breaks into a million shards
but for your sake, I can't let it show
when tears stop flowing
you just stare silently
I hold you even closer and whisper
"everything is going to be fine."
Your hands clutch my back
hard enough to leave bruises
but it doesn't hurt at all
what does hurt, is seeing you hurting
At night you sleep in my arms
your arms around me
your face in my neck
your breathing warm and steady
You hold me tight
fearful, I might leave
But I promise you, I'll never leave
Because my home is with you
