Mia's Point Of View

It was past two in the morning and I just couldn't sleep at all, I've tried meditating and all but it didn't work and I was pretty tired, exhausted would be the right word right now. Exhausted emotionally, mentally and physically for sure. I decided to go for a walk and I know I know- it's two in the morning and it's not safe to walk around in the streets all alone at this hour but I didn't wanna wake Jake up, he's been a great help, helping me clean my apartment, cheering me up and taking my mind off of Ethan... I appreciate him and as much as I need him by my side he's tired as hell, let him sleep. 

I got out of bed quietly and slipped my sweatpants through my legs

"Mia? Where you going ma?" Jake sat up asking

Shit

"Um I cant sleep so I'm gon head out for a walk" I explained sitting next to him on the bed

"What? What time is it?" He asked scratching the back of his neck and rubbed his left eye

"2:20 or something"

"What's the matter babe?" He questioned, worry laced in his words as he reached out to my face and moved my hair out of the way to have a better look at my face.

"I think I just need some air, hopefully I'll be back in 20 minutes or something" I said "don't wait up for me okay? Try to sleep"

He shook his head "no way, I'm coming with you whether you like it or not. I wouldn't forgive myself if something happens to you"

"I don't have a say in this, do i?" I asked tilting my head to the side

He licked his lips and tsked getting out of the bed "nope"

I nodded walking out of the room before sliding my shoes in my feet and grabbed my apartment's keys. "You coming or what?" I asked tapping my foot against the floor as I waited for Jake to come

"Patience woman" he said appearing in front of me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

I locked the door behind us and walked towards the elevator together. we got in and waited till we reached the last floor, "what the hell is he doing here?" I asked spotting Ethan in his car in front of the building, I covered the side of my face and walked faster away from it, Jake following my every step

"I told his ass to stay away wasn't I clear?" Jake hissed bringing me closer to him

I sighed and continued walking "he didn't see us did he?" I asked, Jake nodded "don't worry he didn't see us"

I was kind of glad there was this beautiful garden that was like a mini park close to my apartment because each time I felt unfocused, unhappy or whatever I'd come here. Jake sat down on the grass with his legs open and leaned back on the tree and motioned me to come sit down as well, I gladly accepted his offer and sat in between his legs with my back pressed comfortably against his chest.

A few moments passed and none of us said anything we just simply stared at the mini hill in front of us and the stars that were barely visible because of all the lights in New York as the moonlight illuminated the sky, so many thoughts raced through my mind that caused me to whimper without noticing
