Chapter 2

Philip and I answered the door and my parents were there.

I said, "Hi mom! Hi dad! Come on in."

My mom walked in and gave me a hug. Once my mom finished giving me a hug, my dad gave me a hug.

We walked towards the dining room and kitchen.

I said, "You guys can have a seat."

Philip and I walked into the kitchen. He noticed that something was wrong.

He asked, "Are you ok?"

I shook my head no.

He asked, "What's wrong?"

I said, "I can't go through with this. I can't tell my parents."

He brought me in for a hug and he said, "Everything will be fine. The present that we're giving them says it all."

I said, "Yeah, you are right. Thank you for helping me!"

He said, "I got your back, like you have mine", and then we kissed.

I heard the doorbell ring and I said, "I will get it. But, could you get the chicken out."

Philip said, "Yes dear."

I said, "Thanks honey."

I walked towards our front door. I opened the door and it was Philip's parents.

I said, "Hi guys! Come on in."

We walked towards the dining room and kitchen.

I said, "Take a seat. Dinner should be ready in a couple minutes."

I walked in the kitchen and the chicken was out of the oven. I saw that Philip was doing something a little suspicious.

I asked, "Why are you eating the vegetables?"

Philip said, "I'm making sure that it tastes fine."

He put some of the vegetables on a fork and fed them to me.

I said, "That turned out really good. Could you bring it out to the table?"

He said, "Yes."

I walked in the dining room and sat where Philip and I would sit.

I said, "Philip is bringing dinner out."

He brought it out and placed it in the center of the table.

He sat down next to me and said, "Shall we have a word of prayer?"

We all joined hands. I felt that I grabbed his hand harder than my fathers hand.

After the prayer we all ate dinner and started talking.

Once everyone was done eating Philip said, "We have something to give to you guys."

Philip grabbed the presents and handed them to our parents. We got them onesies for a baby that says I love my grandma/grandpa.

My mom said, "Oh my goodness."

Philip's mom said, "Wow!"

Our dads didn't say much. Philip and I stood up. I took my cardigan off and showed my baby bump.

I said, "I am pregnant."

Our parents got out of their chairs to give us hugs and say congratulations.

My dad got up, gave me a hug and said, "Congrats! I love you!"

I said, "Thank you dad! I love you too!"

My mom came up gave me a hug and said, "I'm so happy for you! Congrats! I love you!"

I said, "Thank you mom! I love you too!"

Philip's mom came up to me, gave me a hug and said, "Congrats Robin!"

I said, "Thank you!"

Philip's dad came up to me, gave me a hug and said, "Congrats!"

I said, "Thank you!"

Once our parents sat down and Philip said, "Well, we just want to say thank you for coming tonight!"

My mom asked, "Robin, do you have the pregnancy test and/or photos?"

I said, "Of course!"

Philip and I sat back down in our seats. I went to the pocket of my cardigan and pulled out a photo and the pregnancy test. Philip put his arm around me. We all looked at the photo at once.

After another hour or so, our parents left. We started to clean off the table.

Philip said, "I will do the dishes. You go relax."

I asked, "Are you sure you can handle the dishes on your own?"

He said, "Honey, I got it."

I said, "Ok. I will leave you be. Love you."

He said, "Love you too", and then we kissed.

I went upstairs to the bedroom. I put on some comfy clothes and got in bed. I grabbed my laptop and started to do some work.

Philip came upstairs and said, "I thought you were relaxing not working." I said, "Well, work is relaxing."

Philip got in bed and said, "Good night! Love you!"
I said, "Love you too", and then we kissed.
