Training to be an assassin was new for me, but I caught on quickly. A gun was like my new best friend. I could always rely on it and it was extremely useful.

We were at Target practice; something the group did everyday as a warm up for the rest of the day.

I noticed a new girl in the group but I told myself not to get distracted.

I put the sling around my shoulder and held up the gun. I aimed and within seconds, I shot the bullseye of the target.

I dropped the gun to my side and looked satisfied at my skill.

"Show off," I heard the new girl say that snapped me out of my thoughts.

I turned around and crossed my arms and said, "And?"

"Well, I'm just saying because you're so far the only one with a gun and everyone else is still eating breakfast," she said and put her hands on her hips.

I looked around and she was right. I didn't even realize it.

I held out my hand and said, "Mitch."

She took it and shook it and said, "Y/N."

"What brings you here?" I asked.

"I lost my family and I thought this was the only choice for me and I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through," she looked down and sighed. "What about you?"

"I lost my fiancée the day I proposed to her. Man...I loved her so much..." I replied and nervously cracked my knuckles.

"I'm sorry," Y/N said and placed her hand on my shoulder for comfort.

"I'm sorry for you too," I replied.

"I hope we get to work together in the future," she said and walked away toward the rest of the group.
