Length is something that doesn't always matter but sometimes it shows how much the author has thought about the book. Now, I will admit that some people like longer stories so they will be more lenient towards them and may be critical towards shorter stories, but. But I am yet to read a small story that is good.
But the length of time before two characters fall in love is important.
If the characters fall in love after 2 chapters (which I actually did once in a Falling Skies fanfic) They haven't built up enough trust. Trust. TRUST.
Good Lordy.
Depending on who the fanfic is about, depends on how long it takes to fall in love.
