Addressed to Time
To the world as I so know it
Time passes by without a shadow of a doubt
Running through us
Pulling at us
Life puts a strain weighing heavy
On our hearts
Never does it look back
To put pity upon our wandering souls
Desensitising as it makes its way
Life never stops to consider
Or question
The suffering that it’s cast down
It can never slow for the greater good
Or the greater worse
It has no time for those who fall and fail
It was not always this way
But then
What makes time, the world,
What it is today
