Chapter 2: Reunion

I see my dad's sheriff car in the driveway and an my mom's old jeep. Stiles must have inherited it, I thought. I walk to the door and knock with excitement. I just want to be home and have everything normal again, but deep down I know that isn't going to happen no matter how much I hope.

"Coming!!!!", yelled Stiles.

I chuckled missing his little boy voice wishing I could go back in time.

"Can I help you?"

My heart sank, my only sibling didn't recognize me. I could understand why, it's been 6 years. My eyes filled with water but I quickly blinked them away.

"Yeah actually can I see my little brother and dad that I love so much?" Stiles went from confused to zealous in less than a second.

"LUNA!!!!!!" I laughed as he hugged me.

"Jeez kid you been working out or what?" We both laughed.

"WHATS GOING ON??", roared my dad who was probably worried.

"HEY DAD ITS-" I cut him off quickly by putting my hand over his mouth.

"WHO??", asked my dad.

"Hey dad it's your favorite child!", I said loud enough so maybe he could hear.

He did, and sprinted to the door.

"LUNA!" I laughed. "Like father, like son." We all laughed like we were close.

"Come inside.", said my dad.

When I got inside I realized nothing had changed, everything looked like it did when I left.

"So where have you been Luna? We went to your grandma's a month ago and she said you weren't there."

Oh no I was busted. I don't have to lie, just not tell them the whole truth so they can be safe, unlike me.

"I was at Mystic Falls community college until a couple weeks ago when I transferred to Beacon Hills community college so I can see you guys again." I gave them my best smile hoping they would buy the lie.

My mom could tell if I was lying, but she wasn't here and I don't think my dad could tell.

He just put on his big grin and said,"Well why don't you stay here until you find a place of your own?"

Just like my dad to offer his hospitality. I didn't want to put them in more danger than I already was by coming here.

"No it's ok dad I have an apartment already. But thanks." I smiled at him and hoped he wouldn't insist.

Thankfully he didn't. "Well I think I should go get settled in but I promise I'll come back soon."

My dad said,"Wait right here don't move." Before I had a change to ask why he was already gone.

"Wow I don't think I've ever seen him so happy since......" "Mom." Stiles didn't need to finish I knew what he was going to say.

"Wow just like old times huh little bro?"

He laughed,"Yeah big sis, with you finishing my sentences. All I need for you to do know is to boss me around."

Before I could respond my dad was back with a key.

"Here Luna, a key to the house for whenever you want to come. Your always welcome."

I didn't know what to say so I just took the key and said,"Thanks dad I'll come back as soon as I can."

With that we said our goodbyes and then I left with tears streaming down my face realizing I couldn't stay very long because he'll find me, no matter how much I'd hope he wouldn't.
