{Four years later, 2021}

"I'm back!" I called, putting my stuff down in the table and kicking off my heels, shrinking five inches. "How was your date, come here. Talk to me."
Gabe was sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the tv, which was playing season five of Sherlock.
"Is that a new episode?"
College. We were both in our sophomore year in Boston. After a year of living in dorms, we got tired and bought an apartment halfway between the Boston Conservatory and Harvard. We broke up soon after classes started. The love wasn't there anymore, but we stayed best friends, and roomies in our apartment.
"Yeah, its new. I'm recording it for later." Gabe said, sitting back to look at me. "How was your date?"
"Oh, well, he dumped me. Apparently dark girls aren't his type, he prefers white, blonde girls." I hissed, sighing. "Whatever he was a douche. And racist."
Gabe's face hardened.
"Did you hear from West? She called me the other day whining about midterms and she was worried about her cardiothoracic surgery exam and who knows what. She said she'd call for drinks when she finished."
West, who we were still in touch with (meaning drinks every Friday) was going to Tufts.
Gabe shook his head. He must have been hung up on Lily.
"So?" I squealed, trying to change the subject. "How did it go with Lily? Did you propose?"
Gabe shook his head slowly.
I frowned, wrapping Gabe in a half hug. "I'm so sorry. Why? I thought you guys were meant to be!"
"No. of course she wasn't. I've been too in love with someone else to marry her." Gabe said, twisting the ring in his hand. I cocked my head, confused.
"Who? What's happened? You're in love with someone else? Do you need a wingman? I'm your girl." I said, hitting him lightly on the shoulder.
"No." Gabe muttered.
"Okay, man. What the hell is wrong? I'm gonna call Justin and have him come over, because you're freaking me out." I said, standing up. Gabe grabbed my wrist.
"Sit down, please, because I need to do this." Gabe whispered. I sat down and looked at him.
"What is it?"
"I have known you since elementary school. We had a romantic relationship for six years of our life. I fell in and out of love with you so many times, and I fell again. I freaking fell!" Gabe shouted, pounding the table in front of us. I jumped.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." He said. I sat down again, taking his hand in mine.
"What are you trying to say?" I asked.
"Please. We've already spent time together and apart, and I like it better when we're together. Please, Ce. Take the stupid ring and tell me you'll marry me."
I sat there, mouth hanging open.
"Dude." I murmured. "You can't just randomly ask to take a ring. You suck at proposing."
Gabe hung his head, chuckling. "Sorry. But?"
"Of course, you idiot." I laughed, leaning in to kiss him. He let out a cheer as we pulled apart before pulling me in again, lying down on the couch.
Gabe looked at me. "Your mami is gonna freak."

{A/N: So, I'm gonna just end the book. There's gonna be three parts to the finale. The last lyrics of the last Beatles song are responsible for the titles. Love y'all enough to continue this. xxAv}
