"Good job today Ben, let's try not to be late tomorrow ok?" Zoe, my boss, said patting my back. She seems a bit more understanding now that I have completely explained why I needed to do what I did.
Zoe had said she can relate in some ways and that it wasn't her that was upset the last time I was late, it was the assistant manager Bob. Trust me, I know he sounds like a fuckwad.
"I'll try boss, again sorry, I'll leave earlier tomorrow," I promised and apologized. She smiled at me and nodded.
I got into my car and headed my way home.
Once I got to the apartment, I ran into the same girl again, this time she was trying to get in the building.
Ritually she put the key in, unlocked, locked and repeated.

3 times
4 times
And lastly, 5 times.
And then she entered and tediously locked the door behind her.
Over and over until she finally reached 5.
I made eye contact and her face flared red, showing her embarrassment and she skittered off, leaving me to do it all over again....
