Chapter Sixteen

Bailey's POV

Eventually, my door bell rang, causing Courtney to jump from my bed, and ran out of my door, sprint down the steps, and jump to the door.

I laughed, but quickly followed behind her.

As I reached the bottom step, Jake appeared in my doorway.

He smiled as he looked me up and down.

He quickly made his way over to me.

"You look beautiful." He complimented.

"You don't look to bad yourself." I smiled back.

He was wearing black dress pants, along with a blue button up shirt.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked me, smiling.

I simply nodded in response, as Jake intertwined his hand with mine, and we began walking out the door.

As we were only a few steps from the door, I heard a click behind us.

I turn around to see Courtney standing behind me.

As she noticed that we turned around, she hid her phone behind her back, and shuffled her feet.

I raised my eyebrows in her direction, causing her to wink at me, as we turned back around and walked out the door.

"So where are we going?" I asked once we made it out.

"You'll find out soon enough." He smiled down at me.

We walked a little farther, until we reached the beach.

Jake gave me a moment to take off my sandals so they didn't get filled with sand, and then we continued walking through the sand.

"It's so beautiful." I exclaimed, as we came upon a candle lot gazebo.

"Only the best for you." He smiled, as he led us over to our table.

"Your so sweet." I smiled back, as he pulled out my chair for me to sit in, and then walked over to his own.

"I try my hardest." He responded, making me laugh slightly to myself.

The night continued, basically exactly like it was planned.

Sooner than expected, our night had to end, and Jake walked me back home.

We stopped on my doorway, and the porch light clicked on above us.

I slightly laughed, and then turned to face Jake.

"I had a lot of fun tonight. Thank you." I smiled, as I hugged him.

"Id love to do it again." Jake smiled back.

"Me too." I responded, as we let go of the hug, and looked back at each other.

"I guess I convinced you then." He smirked.

I gave him a confused look, so he continued.

"That's there's nothing between Pam and I." He whispered.

"Yes you did." I replied, sweetly. "Well, I'll see you on Monday. Goodnight Jake." I smiled, as I began to turn around.

"Wait." He exclaimed, as he took a light hold on my wrist.

I turned back around to face him.

Instead of continuing talking, he crept closer and closer to me.

Before I realized it, his lips connected go mine.

"Be mine?" He asked, as he connected our foreheads, his palm still laying on my cheek.

My hand reached up to hold his, as I smiled.

"Always." I smiled, as I reached, up and pecked his lips.

I then hugged him again.

"Goodnight Jake." I said softly.

"Goodnight beautiful." He responded, as I felt him smile into my neck.

We let go of the hug, and smiled at each other once more, before I turned, and walked inside, leaving Jake on the porch to continue his way home.

I got inside, and closed the door behind me, letting my back fall against it.

"Someone's got it bad." Austin smirked as he walked up to me.

I playfully slapped his arm.

"Always Jake. Always." He mocked, as I continued chasing him into the living room.

"Jailey is official." Courtney cheered, as We made it into the room.

I laughed as she ran over to me, and jumped into my arms.

I looked over to see the rest of the Boyz sitting on the couch, watching and laughing at Courtney.

I looked at all of them, until my eyes met Nicks.

He had a slight smirk on his face.

Once he realized that I was looking his way, it turned into a genuine smile.

I rolled my eyes, and Courtney let go of me.

"I'm gonna go change. I'll be right back." I told them all before taking off to the stairs, and up to my room.

Once I got there, I closed my door and threw my back against it once again.

Things we finally starting to fall into place.

Things were finally going my way.

I could actually stand it here right now.

I concluded my thoughts, as I walked over to my closet, to grab more comfortable clothes to hang around in.

California might not be so bad after all.
