OCTOBER 15TH (Saturday)

When I woke, Mary brought in a gift box from Mason, and I couldn’t help but smile. It was the day of the funeral, so the nurses helped me put on the dress Mason had sent for me, after I read his note.

My Sweet Michelle,

I wish so much that I could be there for you. Be strong, Love, and remember my heart is with you, always.

All my love,

Mason

I'm pretty sure the nurses had read this note too, but I didn't care. Why should I? He's so amazing! He seems to know exactly what to say to make me melt and feel like I could take on anything the world throws at me. When I was finished getting dressed, I put on some make-up. Not much, just enough to give myself a little color, other than red. My body still ached all over and my skin was still a little red, well more like a soft pink now. My right thigh was the worst. It was indented from something, but I didn't remember how it gotten that way. Every time I tried to think about how it happened, I couldn't remember anything. It wasn't noticeable, unless you knew it was there and even then it wasn't that bad.

I was the first one to get to the funeral home. When people starting coming in, I greeted them and thanked them for coming. I knew most of them, but some of them I only remember from my families photo books.

I noticed a large arrangement of white roses in the center of the table that held the guest book. I knew it was from Mason, even before I looked at the card. It read ‘Go outside’. I was kinda confused, but did it anyway. When I got outside... There he was ... Mason! I couldn't help but smile at him, and almost took off running toward him. I managed to control myself enough to slowly walk toward him as he walked toward me, smiling from ear to ear.

When we reached each other, he tucked me into him and hugged me tight. He whispered "I couldn't bare the thought of you being here alone, so I caught a flight out last night."

All I could say was "Thank you so much. I know it must have been hard to come here on such a short notice."

He pulled my chin up with his hand, smiled at me and said "I had been planning on it since the moment I left your room. All I needed to know was when I needed to be here."

Still smiling I said "You’re full of surprises, aren't you? How did you know when to be here?"

He kissed me sweetly, and I just melted into his arms. When we pulled away from each other, we rested our foreheads together. “Mary called me after you made the arrangements.” We stood there for a few minutes, just holding each other before he whispered "Are you ready to go in?"

"I am now that you’re here." I whispered back with a small smile, feeling like I could take on anything.

He put his right arm around me, and rested his hand on the right side of my waist. Then took my left hand in his and led me inside.

The service ended at the cemetery. People slowly left, while giving their condolences to us. We gave them our thanks in return. We both noticed about the same time that there were only a few people left. Two people I didn't recognize at all, not even from any pictures I had seen.

They looked like twins with very little differences. Their eyes were a deep green. Their hair was jet black. Both were tall & slender, with just enough of a hint of muscle tone to make them look ‘solid’. Ones nose was slightly slimmer, and the others chin was slightly more squared. The one with the slimmer nose was just a little shorter than other, and their voices were definitely different. The one with the slimmer nose had a deeper voice. They were absolutely astonishing to listen to, and were both very handsome.
