Chapter 2:

Shawn’s POV:

I swear to Zeus if Zane screams in my ear to wake me up again, I’m gonna kill him. That rainbow bastard better not do anything stupid next time either. I should just move into the dorms or something, maybe then I wouldn’t get such a rude wakeup.

I ran a hand through my hair as I walked around the campus. I was tired from staying up late playing GTA with Zane. I don’t know how he can wake up on time so easily without an alarm clock. I could probably sleep the whole day without waking up once if someone didn’t wake me up.

“Hey!” I glanced up to see a boy running towards me. I waved, unsure of what to do. Do I know him?

“Hello?” I mumbled. He patted my shoulder cheerfully once he got to me.

“I’m Forrest Lakes! I’ll be the one to show you around today!” The guy, Forrest, grinned happily at me. I attempted a smile, but he seemed overly cheerful, which kind of annoyed me. I hated overly cheerful people.

“How old are you anyways?” I ask, following him inside. He smiled at me.

“19, why?” He’s 19? He sure doesn’t seem to act it.

“You seem a little overly cheerful…” I mumbled, trying not to seem rude. Forrest chuckled.

“It’s better than being serious all the time!” He patted my shoulder. “Lighten up! Be free! Be yourself!” He put an arm around my shoulders and I felt the urge to step away, but I didn’t. He pointed out things and showed me around the whole campus. He even showed me his dorm room. When I asked him where he was from he told me Narnia. He and Zane would be great friends.

“So you got a girlfriend?” I ask, sparking a conversation that wasn’t about the campus.

“I’m gay.” Forrest said, stretching his arms out. I gaped at him.

“You’re a rainbow boy?” He grinned at me and nodded enthusiastically.

“Yup! I get to ride unicorns!” He cheered. I sighed, another rainbow boy. Everybody I know is gay, even my little brother Rayn is gay. It doesn’t help either when my mom is a fangirl about it. My dad just supports them.
“Is there a guy on this planet besides me that is straight?” I thought aloud. Forrest looked at me and I noticed he looked kind of sad for a moment. He quickly smiled to cover it up.

“Plenty! There are a lot of straight guys here on campus! A lot of them don’t like me much since I am a gay guy.” He sighed.  “I don’t give a crap what they think though. I’m me and I’m who I wanna be.” He skipped ahead and I watched as he clumsily tripped and fell face first in a puddle. I laughed and found myself falling because I was laughing so hard. Forrest got up and looked distraught.

“My gorgeous face!” He exclaimed. I laughed even harder and laid on my back.

“Ohh haha you gay people are hilarious.” I wiped a tear from my eye and stood up. “whew!” I brushed myself off and watched as Forrest got up. He dropped something and went to pick it up. I stared at his ass and then it dawned on me what I was doing and I freaked out. I’m straight! Why was I looking at a dude’s ass? I ran a hand through my hair. It was probably because I haven’t gotten enough sleep. Either that or Zane’s gayness is contagious. I’m going to blame Zane. It’s easier than blaming my lack of sleep.

“You straight people are way too normal.” Forrest grinned. I followed him out to the sidewalk.

“Wanna get something to eat?” He asked. I shrugged.

“Sure, why not.”

We decided to go to a small little restaurant. Forrest told me his mom and sister work there, but his sister is basically a part timer and works once her homework is done.
