Chapter 25.

After a while Slade had pulled away.

I starred at him still shocked concerning everything that just happened.

My swollen lips still felt his rough yet passionate ones against mine.

I wanted to rewind the time and go back to that moment.

But I sustained myself.

I didn't have much courage so it was easy for me not to do things I was afraid of doing.

"Well, will you?" he repeats his question.

"I-i.....uhhh".

Can't you talk!?

Of course you will!

You have freaking feelings for him for goodness sake!

I nod rapidly because no words came out my mouth at the moment.

"Yes?" he questions with a huge smile.

I nod a smile of my own making its way to my face.

"Yes!" he cheers.

I laugh looking at how excited he was.

He joins me.

"You don't know how happy I am" he confesses hugging me tightly.

I smile and hug him back.

"Thank you" he whispers in my ear sending shivers through my whole body.

No, thank you.

For putting in me hope, courage, and making me the happiest girl on earth.

For helping me find out who I really am.

For transforming me from a dirty, worthless, little geek to Grace Evans, an actual person who matters in this world.

"Hey" I greet quietly taking a seat  across from Claire.

I had just walked into the library to read a book and spotted her seated all alone.

She looks up.

"Hey" she responds effortlessly then turns back to what she was doing minutes before I even came.

"What are you doing there?" I ask.

"Homework" she mumbles.

"What kind of homework?" I ask.

"Essay" she mutters in annoyance.

"Essay for what c-", "enough Grace!" she cuts off.

"I'm never going to finish with you asking me these dum questions" she states with a sigh.

"Ok fine" I huff.

She nods with a thank you then continues her work.

After a good amount of silence I break it.

Once again.

Oh well.

"Ok one more thing!" I blurt out.

She sighs through her nose.

"What Grace, what?" she questions trying not to sound too annoyed and impatient.

"I came here for a reason, and the truth is I'm here to apologize" I confess.

"Wha-really?" she questions almost shocked.

I nod.

"You were trying to protect me, from Slade. You were right, he was not in the best place these past few days" right when she was about to give me that I told you so face I continue my sentence.
