"Oh, my god."

Austin chuckled and pulled Abby along. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

On their way home from the convention, Austin had planned a small detour north, surprising his love.

"It's gorgeous."

"I'm glad you like it. I lived here for a while when I was little. It was always one of my favorite places."

Abby smiled. She liked hearing about Austin's past. It always felt like he was so fond of all the memories stored away in that brain of his. Seeing the places of those memories was even more special. She had never seen Oregon before, and this wasn't a bad first impression. Fall was coloring the leaves spectacularly.

The couple walked through the park, chatting aimlessly and generally enjoying the time with each other.
