"I liked your dad."

He didn't move. If it wasn't for the slight movement of his back, Austin wouldn't have thought he was alive.

"I could tell that your mom wasn't happy about the whole thing."

Abel slowly nodded his head. Austin calmly rubbed his back.

"That's okay. Just know that I love you. Nothing will ever change that."

Abel looked up then, tears shimmering in those emerald green eyes.

"You love me?"

Austin smiled, nonchalant as ever. "Yes, Abby, I love you."

He started crying for the third time that day. "I love you too."

Austin pulled the crying man close. "Then we'll be okay."
