CHARLEY'S POV
I tap Demi's shoulder as a group of a lot of grown ups wearing black gather into the coffee shop.
"Paparazzi." Says Jo very softly and then squeezes closer to Demi and me.
Lights start flashing and they hurt my eyes. People start to gather closer around us and begin to yell things.
"Who is this?" Shouts an old man with lines in his face.
"Is it true this is the daughter of Wilmer?!" Shouts another.
"Is it also true that this girl is being abused and began self harming?!" Demi whips around at this comment from a nonvisible man.
"You f-" Jo holds her shoulder and keeps her from hitting the man who asked the question.
A furious Demi, concerned Jo, and confused me walk to a table in the back as a few waitresses distract the paps.
"Here is your order, Miss Lovato. We are planning on keeping away the paparazzi."
Says the cashier lady as she hands us our food and looks at me funny.
"Thank you! I live my lovatics! Stay Strong!"
I wonder what Demi is talking about as I sniff the pretty smell coming from her cup. She looks up at me," Try the doughnut, it tastes really good."
I cautiously bite into the doughnut and let it roll down my throat. I eagerly eat more. This is the most marvelous food I've ever had! It tastes better than pancakes or milk, it tastes like bread, but really sweet.
We enjoy our breakfast as Demi and Jo discuss plans to go shopping.
"Let's go, baby." She says and we walk out of the shop.
Demi's deep brown eyes light up as we walk into a store. There are lots of shirts, skirts, and accessories. I walk up and feel the soft material of a fluffy pink dress. I run my face against the fluffy pajamas with patterns of dogs and cats. The store is filled with the glorious smell of leather that I recognize from the many times I have hidden in my father's jacket closet.
Demi spent a good while picking out clothes for me and having me try them on. It was fun, because Demi is happy, but I enjoyed all the color and patterns. Maybe one day I would learn how to make these clothes.
We went into three more stores and came out of each with too many bags to carry! The bags were blue, white, brown, green, and pink. Some had big, funny letters when others had small, fancy looking letters.
We then went to this big store with couches, beds, tables, and chairs.
I ran around the store and hid from Demi  in the cabinets, bunk beds, and under tables until a serious looking, bushy eyes man got upset and told us to quit acting like five year olds. Demi and I just laughed at him and continued to look around.
We had to find me a bed. There are so many! They have long beds, tall beds, beds with roofs, beds looking like castles, and beds with desks!
"What's your favorite color?" Demi asked.
I point at a dark green bag she was holding.
"You like green? That's a pretty color. What do you like most?"
I take out a clothing garment from one of the bags and trace my fingers across the strings holding it toga their.
"You like the patterns and stitches? That must mean you like art."
I nod eagerly.
"So, we should get you a loft bed with a desk so you can draw, green floral covers, white curtains, an easel, an art kit, and anything else we find.
Demi and I spent the rest of the day picking out decorations for my room.
This is the best day of my life.
