How did you discover Wattpad?

I was searching for a place to post my writing to so that I could get more feedback. A quick Google search brought me to Wattpad where I've been ever since.

How long have you had Wattpad and how often do you use it?

I've had Wattpad for about 2+ years and I use it pretty much every day. Being an Ambassador means that I'm online quite a lot, moderating the clubs and trying to help other users the best that I can.

Is there a meaning behind your username?

The "dark" part comes from the fact that my writing tends to focus on the darker part of humanity, the "emerald" part because I'm Irish and the "gem" because I consider my writing to be a gem - because of the impact it has had on my life and how much it means to me.

Why did you start writing? What age did you discover your love for it?

I started writing fanfiction at age thirteen and discovered my love for writing back then. I love the ability to create my own worlds and characters, giving them their own personalities and backstory, and to use my writing to challenge people and make them think.

Who are your favourite authors? What are your favourite books? (Books on Wattpad count too!) What is your favourite genre?

My favourite authors would be: JK Rowling and Chris Carter, the latter of whom writes fantastic crime novels that keep me on the edge of my seat every time I watch them. My favourite genre to read is Crime/Thriller, though I like to read pretty much everything as long as it's well-written and I can get into the plot.

Do you want a career in writing?

Yes.

Who supports you the most in your writing?

My readers. They mean the world to me. Every comment they leave warms my heart. Whether it's a comment telling me how much they love my story, or a critique telling me how to improve, or just people reacting to the characters, I love them all to pieces. And that's the best thing about Wattpad, the ability to interact with people who read your story.

What is your book called? What genre is it? What is it about (2/3 lines)?

Letters to a Flower. It's a Mystery/Thriller.The book is told through the perspective of a psychopathic serial killer named Saria Abrams. It is written as a collection of letters that she is writing to her younger sister, Liliana, in which she goes through her story, what makes her do the things that she does, and what drove her to become a killer.

What inspired you to write it?

The character of Saria was originally created for a Kite Runner fanfiction, however I decided to take that character and adapt her into her own story. The story was inspired by the fact that I wanted to challenge people's thoughts on topics such as murderers, psychopathy and morality. I want people to read it and give Saria a chance. Not to condone her actions but to try and understand her reasoning. I don't believe that morality is black and white. Everyone has a reason for doing the things that they do, even serial killers. Everyone is human, and everyone has a past.

How often do you update? When was it last updated?

I try to update as often as I can, and also to give the best chapter that I can with every update.

How long are your chapters? Do you think short or long chapters are better?

My chapters are usually about 3,000 words. I think that longer chapters are better as they include more detail and can include more character thoughts.

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?

Yes. I am incredibly proud of how well my book has done, and of the amount of people that have commented and read on it.

Any advice for new writers?

Write. That's it. Write, and love it. Let it take you over. Love it. Live it. Do your best to make the best story that you can. And never give up. You have a voice. Use it.

Wow. This author's book is amazing, and the concept has literally stunned me speechless. Wow. I absolutely love the whole idea of her writing and wow, literally, I can't express how amazed I am. Seriously, check her out because her books are fantastic.
