Part 17: Surprise

We weren't told much about our wedding. Just that it was going to be good. Seff and I didn't fret too much. We took that as an opportunity to spend some 'quality time' together.

It was about a week later when I heard them walk towards our house. I slowly meandered towards the door.

"Come on," Angel and her mother said, "You're staying at our house tonight and you get married tomorrow."

I looked at Seff who was grinning.

"Why you smiling?!" I laughed, "You have to be stuck in this house whilst all the men bombard it. And you have to have a Stag do."

Seff groaned.

"I'd rather do... Something else."

We all laughed.

"Save it for the honeymoon," Angel screamed as she took my hand and dragged me to a car.

I was soon placed in the ugliest pink dress with a flamboyant tiara. I wasn't happy as I slowly sat in the motorcar. As expected, the next couple of hours were awkward. I tried to smile as they chatted to me about married life.

It was soon over.

It didn't really hit me that I was getting married until I was in the guest bedroom with the dress put up in front of me. Everyone had left already and I was lying in my bed starig at the dress.

It was beautiful.

I was getting married to Seff. We were going to start our lives together, create our little family and make our own legacy... As Betas.

That bites.

If you had told me that I was going to be in love with Seff a few months ago, I would have ripped a new one. But catastrophe and him being my rock, and my strength really did a number on me.

I smiled and soon fell asleep.

The next day was a rush. I didn't what was going on or who was who. I woke up to find ten women in my room. They were all running around. I grinned as someone placed a plate full of food under my nose whilst another woman shoved me towards the bathroom.

I didn't complain.

I was getting married!

I somehow managed to eat and bathe in record speed.

I was also soon surrounded by makeup artists in record speed. My hair was being pulled in one direction whilst someone was doing my nails and someone else was plucking my eyebrows and applying eyeshadow.

It was complete and utter havoc. I tried to move but I was held down by incredibly strong hands.

"Your man is going to stop in his tracks," they told me, so that I could calm down. It only worked for a short period.

I was being put in my dress, they were oohing and awwing as they all stared at me. I just smiled.

I felt beautiful. I gasped as a mirror was placed in front of me.

I was more than beautiful. My hair came down my back in perfect curls, my skin was perfect and blemish free. My eyes were shimmering with a hint of peach on them and my lips were red. I held my head up as I studied my reflection. I couldn't believe it; with shaking hands, I slowly touched the dress.

This was real. I looked and felt like a princess. Like the real deal.

I don't know how long I stood there admiring their work. But I was flabbergasted.
