I lay on my side staring at Mike as he lay there.  He had his arms pulled up behind his head, with his fingers interlaced.  He stared up at the ceiling.  There was a silence between us.  Not an awkward silence, just silence.  Each of us lost in our own thoughts.

I rolled over so that I was on top of Mike's chest.  He smiled and wrapped his arms around me.  I giggled and he kissed me on the tip of my nose.

"Wanna go get something to eat?"  I asked.

Before he could answer, all hell broke loose.

     "Oh. My. God..."

The shocked voice tore us apart.  In our hurry, we had forgotten to lock the door.  Standing in the open doorway was Hannah.  Her face was drawn up in a shocked expression.  Her hand covering her mouth and nose.  Her eyes wide with disbelief.  In her other hand was a teddy bear.  She released it, and it tumbled noiselessly to the floor.  Tears welled up in her eyes.

I quickly rolled off of Mike, my face burning.  I pulled the sheet up in front of myself.  "Han, let me explain..."

She quickly cut me off.  "How could you?!  What were you thinking?  No, wait, let me rephrase that.  Were you even thinking at all?"  She took a ragged breath.  "Mike..."

Mike looked away, unable to stand the look of pain in Hannah's eyes.

With a cry, Hannah spun around and ran from the apartment.

"Han!  Come back!  Wait a second!"  I cried after her.

Mike sat up on the edge of the bed with the sheet draped across his lap.  He ran his hands through his hair.  "Just let her go.  She is so upset right now that it wouldn't do any good for either of us to try and talk to her.  There is no way that she would listen to either of us right now."

My eyes welled up with tears as I looked at Mike.  "I feel just horrible!  God!  I have done to Josh what Darry did to me.  I am no better than he was."

Mike put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me towards him.  "You are nothing like that rapist.  This is a completely different set of circumstances."  He looked towards the open door.  "But, I do feel really bad about Hannah finding out like this."

I stared at the open doorway where Hannah had been standing moments ago.  "What are we going to do now?"

Mike rested his chin on the top of my head.  "I don't know Mila.  I just don't know."
