Chapter 30- The Understanding.

"Take a risk?" Brooke asked hesitantly. She looked anxious and not to sure of herself. I could see she was nervous to tell Kevin she had a crush on him, I would be too, I must admit. I had the easy way out, however. I knew Michael liked me before I ever got to know I liked him back.

I still didn't get why she could ever fancy Kevin. To me he was weird, he was arrogant and abit of a creep, but I could never tell Brooke that. I guess the happiness of my bestfriend over powered every thought I made.

"Look, how about you just wait and see where life takes you. Just go with the flow, go with the wind." I advised. The best thing to do was to go with whatever life threw at you. There are times where you need to sort yourself out and get into gear for the things you want or need. But there are times where you should just let life whisk you away with the tide, because I believed things happen for a reason.

What happened to me before happened for a reason, that's what I totally believed. Jake pushed me to meet Michael. I escaped and came to a place I would never have gone to before, this was all so weird to think about, but I also believed in fate.

This world is weird, the lives of different people are crazy. I know there are such things as fate, miracles, luck and all of them opinionated subjects, because they've all happened to me. My life was planned out for me, this was who I am.

"I guess. I'll just wait for the time being." Brooke exclaimed. I nodded my head and layed my hand on her shoulder, showing comfort and reassurance.

"Everything will turn out just fine, but I think we should try and tempt Kevin just a little bit." I winked playfully. Brooke giggled.

"No harm in that." Brooke mused. I smiled in agreement.

Brooke and I both made our way back downstairs. I didn't know why we left Kevin and Michael on their own, I guess we were too hyped up in the gossip to worry. I just hoped nothing was broken, especially their bones.

When we appeared into the living room, the place was surrounded in an eerie silence. No words were spoken, no movements were made. Kevin was on the opposite couch to Michael and their eyes were in lock down with eachother. The tension could have been cut with a knife over and over again. The tension would have come back stronger each time.

I guess they were getting along a little better. They were not communicating but they weren't fighting either, I preferred it like this.

It took them atleast a couple of minutes to even notice we were there watching them. I was about to say something to get their attention but Brooke put her hand up to stop me from uttering anything.

When Michael finally turned his head towards the door, his eyes widened once he locked gazes with me. I arched my eyebrow and smirked in amusement. Michael shrugged before sauntering his way towards me and pulling me into his arms.

"No way!" Brooke gasped. We all looked over to her, she was staring at me and Michael with pure shock edged on her face. I gave her a confused look. "You two are dating?" Brooke asked in disbelief. I opened my mouth to agree but Michael beat me to it.

"She is actually my girlfriend." Michael said with pride. I looked up to him with a small smile tugging at the end of my lips. He bent down to capture my lips with his. I could faintly hear Kevin sniggering in the background, but I made nothing of it. I was happy Michael didn't hear it either.

Suddenly, Brooke clapped her hands together, the sound resonating through the room and bouncing against the walls.

"Let's all go to a restaurant tonight, all four of us!" Brooke all but squealed in delight. I smirked knowing the plan was finally falling into place. Michael agreed and so did I, Kevin had no choice but to agree in the end.
