For some reason, my mom stopped writing in her journals for three months after the wedding; which I was so excited to read about, and see, for the first time. I always begged to watch it growing up but all I got was, "When you get engaged, you can see it. That way, you'll know what true love is and you can try and top ours." That was my mom's words that followed her laugh, then dad's, finally ending when they shared a kiss which made me walk off. More like run off actually.
Even as a teenager when I asked about the wedding video, I thought it was adorable how much they loved each other when that happened. I just didn't want to see the PDA. It's cute when it's other couples you see randomly walking down the street or at the mall but when it's your parents that's different. How I would kill to see that one last time though; I know how much dad misses her. To this day, he hasn't moved on!

Anyway, about those mysterious three months... I even went to dad to ask him about it and all he could say was to "Blame it on the honeymoon." Now I would've believed him but my mom's first entry from Christmas Day that year made it hard to believe. Why? Apparently dad LEFT her right after the wedding reception and he surprised her Christmas night! He was acting strange enough because I finally read the wedding entry which led to him giving me the video. Mom wasn't around to joke around about it anymore and he wanted me to see it so I look for something similar or better when the time came.

Considering, I guess it paid off since I found the man of my dreams and just married him! This isn't about us though, it's about mom and dad. I can't believe the way he's acting is keeping me from asking him for the truth. Then again that always leads to a lie and then when you uncover the truth about it, another lie, and so on. That's why as I'm telling you the rest of my parents' story, it's my mission to find out what really happened. They're hiding something and obviously this was mom's first clue in that because she wants me to know the truth.

Now that I think about it, mom did the same thing in Vietnam after dad's CD 'Graffiti' was released. Maybe that's the secret and mom told dad what happened before they tied the knot. What would be so bad that he'd run off like that though? And why hide it? Yeah, I'm way too determined to get to the bottom of this and the more I read, the more I find out. Hopefully it gives me enough info so I don't have to ask dad, or anyone, questions when all that'll do is keep me clueless for even longer. With that said, let's get into the Christmas both my parents could never forget!
