The Vampire Next Door

Chapter 8

{Harry's P.O.V}

I don't know what to think of right now, the fact that I was hanging out with a human, a beautiful human, or the fact that those two assholes are back... yes, the two that I saw on the grass field when I was with Sarah. They shouldn't be here, they're NOT supposed to be here.

Here I am running as fast as I could with my human speed, (because if I use my vampire speed I don't even know what's gonna happen with whoever will see me), I wanted to meet up with the lads to tell them what I just saw. I know exactly by this time where they'll be. I wanted to spend the rest of the evening with Sarah, but this is much more important. Get ahold of yourself Harry!... I kept on running until I reached the middle of the forest. Of course, it was dark, but my vampire vision helped me. I wasn't panting like humans will do after a run, I was calm, yet worried. I whistled a familiar whistle that only vampires knew. The next thing I know is that I felt a tap on my shoulder. Slowly, I turned to meet Luke's gaze. "Harry! lad where the hell were you? The funeral ended hours ago." He said. Soon enough, Jake, Louis, and Alex came in as well. "We called you, but you didn't answer, we got a little worried" Alex added. I didn't even bother to check my phone.

"Listen, the two bastards are back", I got straight to the point, more serious than ever, "I saw them just about two hours ago". Their faces were blank, there was a moment of silence. They were probably reprocessing my words in their brains. They knew exactly what I was talking about. "You don't mean...", Jake trailed off. "Carmen and Miguel?!!!", Louis whispered-yelled, his eyes wide and his blue eye lenses failing to conceal the glow in his eyes. I nodded. I was as worried and fustrated as the lads were now. The terrible memories came back to me as I tried pushing them back. Those two, Carmen and Miguel, the spanish assholes, were the reason why we were transformed to these hideous creatures: vampires...

*flashback*

I was 16, meaning this happened 2 years ago. Me and the lads were at a party at my friend's house. It was 1:00am , this was the first time I stay outside the house that late. I wont lie, I felt cool, but at the same time, I felt unsafe for some reason. The lads wanted to stay the night at my house, since i was the closest back home. I didn't mind at all. "Let's go through the alley, a shortcut!", Louis suggested. I nodded agreeing. "Yeah! it saves us a lot of distance" I added. Who knew such a small decision would change our life forever? We turned left towards the dark alley. We kept on walking slowly, we were barely seeing anything. "Haz, are you sure of this? I think we should head back", Jake asked, he was just as frightened as we were. "Jake's right, it's too dark here. Let's head back" Alex said. but it was too late..."Okay, f-", I was cut off by a hand on my mouth then I was slammed hardly against the wall, my back killed me terribly. I couldn't see who was it, I heard muffled screams beside me as well. Meaning that the lads were in the same position as I was. The people who slammed us dragged us with them. We kept on wriggling violently in their grip, but they were abnormally strong. Their hands were still covering our mouth, preventing loud screams, only muffled screams could be heard. They kept dragging us through the unfamiliar woods. Then we reached a place where there was a bonfire and a lot of people were there. Hey why didn't you tell me you're taking us to another party? you scared the shit out of me, I thought I was kidnapped. Then the five of us were thrown powerfully to the ground. I guess it's not a party. I looked up, all eyes were on us, they weren't normal eyes though, they were...red? And.. is it just me or are those fangs that they had? No, i must be imagining, i must! Before I could freak out, I looked frantically at the lads who had the same look on their bloody faces. Wide eyes, overwhelmed, struck, that's how we felt. "Well, well, well. Look who wants to join the party" I looked up and saw a girl and a guy, they looked 18-ish. And it was the guy who spoke, he had an European accent, I think it was German? "What the fuck?!" Alex exclaimed, still overwhelmed. The girl chuckled, "aw. I guess the boys were a little rough on you, weren't they?" She had the same accent too. Her eyes were red too. At that time, I never believed in vampires, but now? I think my mind was gonna explode. "Ahh.. when we transformed people back in Spain they were more frightened than you." She continued. So her accent was Spanish, I should've known, "They used to cry and beg us not to- wait a minute- you still have no idea what you're doing here right?" She laughed with that other douche who was with her. "Well... I'm happy to tell you, you're one of the luckiest people because, this night, you will receive a very special gift... It's called eternity" She smirked. "WHAT?", I exclaimed. 'holly shit, shit shit shit shit this can't be happening. No! vampires are NOT real! This must be a prank, yeah yeah a prank' I thought. "You heard me curly" She looked at me and continued, "The reason you guys will be transformed is to replace some of the vampires that were excuted the last few days. We need to make our vampire population stable. and the 5 of you are young enough to be transformed" her tone now was serious. Okay someone please tell me that's not happening. "What do you exactly mean by transform?" Louis slowly and carefully asked. "You're turning vampires... in 3 minutes. So we could set some things up" The guy said, "You might just say goodbye to your human life in the meantime". He went and got 5 bags of blood, what the fuck is he doing? 'We must get out of here' I thought. I quickly gestured for the lads to run. We quickly got up and prepared to run, then someone grabbed me from the back from my hood, I looked at the lads, they were caught too. Fuck. The girl laughed, she's so annoying. "Where do you think you're going? Now sit down. It's time to transform in 3..." WHAT?! NO NO NO NO! "2" Another girl came behind me and held me tightly then tilted my head, I started screaming, but she was covering my mouth forcefully. "1" The lads were also struggling to get away. I felt lips brush on my neck. Then both tips of the fangs were meeting my skin, but she wasn't digging yet. "GO!" The next thing I know was 2 sharp stings in my neck, digging. I screamed even louder, pain taking over my neck. My legs were shaking, my whole face sweating. The girl sucked from my neck as her grip loosened a little, knowing that I wont be able to fight her. She withdrew her fangs slowly and let go of me. I fell to the ground, my whole body was numb, not even a finger would move. I looked up, everything was spinning, everything. Until it was pitch black.

The next morning when I woke up, I was craving for one thing, blood. I looked around, I was still in the forest, the lads were still here. It was dawn, there was a little light peaking through the thick leaves of the trees. The Spanish girl from yesterday noticed that I have woke up then made her way towards me. "Hola, finally someone woke up. Here, drink. You must be thirsty" She threw me the pack of blood from yesterday. Without hesitation, I opened it hastily with my fangs, wait, I have fangs?! I didn't waste my time thinking about it, I was really thirsty. I drank the red thick liquid eagerly until I was full. The lads woke up a while afterwards and did the same thing. I didn't realise what was happening until now. I'm now a VAMPIRE! A FREAKING VAMPIRE! I was freaking out mentally, but from the outside, I was still. The lads looked different, red eyes, pale skin, fangs, oh my god. "Okay, listen up," the girl addressed the five of us, "You are now officially, vampires!". Everyone cheered, "I'm Carmen, this is my brother Miguel" she pointed at him. "Now, your identity should be hidden from everyone, even your families. That's what the rule says, but you seem like the type to spoil everything, so while you were asleep, we searched and found your families... and sent them away". "NOOOO!!!" I kept on shouting...

*End of flashback*

"HARRY!," Louis shouted. I suddenly came back to reality and snapped out of it. ''W-what?", I replied. "Lad, Alex was asking you where did you find them? It's like you zoned out" Louis answered. "Oh, sorry, um. I found them sitting on the vast grass field, that's like 45 minutes away by walking'', I explained. "What took you there?", Jake asked, confused. I don't want to mention Sarah, and I don't want to tell them I skipped church. They'll get pissed. "Erm, I was, just walking", I answered. They didn't seem convinced, although I was telling half the truth. A while after those two transformed us, they broke a vampire rule and started running away. I don't know which rule. But the way I saw them today they were calm, and sitting on the grass! I think they're not being chased anymore? I don't know. But I definitely have a bad feeling of them being back here. "Let's go to my place" I suggested. They nodded and we got out of the forest.

We arrived to the neighborhood, it was 11:00pm. I glanced up at Sarah's house, the lights were off except for one room, I think it was her room. I tried peeking inside, but the curtains were closed, good girl. "What are you looking at?", Jake poked. "Nothing'', I smiled. Even when I pass her house, I smile. This girl's special. When we walked together today, I kept on feeling weird inside. And I felt kind of, alive. During our walk, she showed me her inner beauty.

We entered my house as I flicked on the lights, the lads scattered around, each one at a different room. They liked to make theirselves at home, which is what I like about them. Jake and Louis went upstairs to get some sleep although it was 11:07pm. Yes, vampires sleep. Anyways, Alex and I stayed up. Sarah was on my mind the whole time, what's wrong with this girl? Why am I even thinking about her? 'You can't get any closer to her, idiot' that voice rang in my head 'You're a vampire, you're not even allowed to feel anything for her. Plus, you're too dangerous for her'.

Without thinking, or even processing the words that I just heard in my head, I grabbed my phone. I went to the contact list and tapped on her name, message, I texted her saying:

Free tomorrow? Wanna show you around town :)xxx -H
