Months had passed and Ashton really stood by his words. Kahit gaano ko siya itulak palayo ay hindi siya umalis sa tabi ko. He stayed. And just like what he said, he really took care of me all throughout those times.

Somehow, I'm thankful na hindi siya naggive up sakin. Somehow, I'm thankful na hindi niya ako iniwan. Cause the truth is, I need him. I need him more than anybody, but I'm too afraid to let him in. Dahil takot na akong mawalan, ulit. Takot na akong magpapasok ng tao sa buhay ko dahil takot na akong maiwan, dahil pagod na akong masaktan.

I'm fully aware of my fears. Hindi ako indenial. Alam ko sa sarili ko na takot akong maiwan, ulit. Pero hinding hindi ko kailanman sasabihin sa kahit na sino yung mga takot ko. Not even, Ashton.

I will never give people the power to destroy me. I will never give people the satisfaction of seeing me fall down. Durog na durog na ako sa pagkawala ng Mommy at ng kapatid ko. Wala na ata akong idudurog pa, kaya kailangan kong maging matatag. Para sa sarili ko.

Sabi nga nila, 'You have no idea how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.' And right now, that's the only choice I have.

Nang magring ang phone ko ay agad akong nabalik sa realidad. I grabbed it and answered Kam's call. "Hello?" Sagot ko sakanya.

I heard noises on the other line before she spoke up. "Hey. Where are you? Its the third month." Malumanay na sabi niya, bahagya nang natahimik sa kabilang linya.

Yeah. Its been three months since Nicolai died in that accident. Three months.

I rolled my eyes heavenwards. "Nasa office. And yes, I know, Kam. I have my own calendar, you know." Bored na sabi ko at sumandal sa swivel chair ko.

I can almost see her frowning from here. "And you're being such a bitch now. I'm guessing the old Harmony's back?" Sabi ng bestfriend ko.

Nakita ko sa gilid ng mata ko na lumabas si Ashton mula sa office niya pero hindi ko siya nilingon. "I am so back." Nakangisi kong sabi at nagumpisa nang magayos ng mga gamit sa lamesa ko.

"Good. Cause I need my bestfriend. You up for some party tonight? Valk." Aniya bago ko narinig ang pagsarado nang pintuan ng sasakyan sa kabilang linya.

I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. Alam ko naman na kailangan niya din ako. Noong isang araw ay tinawagan ako ni Kam na umiiyak dahil naghiwalay na daw sila ni Duke. Di ko maintindihan yung buong kwento niya dahil sa garalgal niyang boses. But one thing's for sure, naghiwalay sila dahil sa babae. "Sure. Valk, tonight." Sabi ko at tumayo na. "Anong oras tayo magkikita?" I asked her.

"Kahit naman sabihin kong 11, ay 12 ka parin dadating. So bahala ka na kung anong oras mo gusto. I'll be there by 11." Aniya.

I shrugged. She's right. Kahit anong oras niya sabihin ay 12 midnight pa naman ako pupunta doon. I just need to let this day pass and then I'm good. "See you. Invite some friends, too."
