I came back home on Thursday, because a tearful night on Wednesday was enough to make me want to have a small break from university, just while I settle back in there. Ozzy agreed that it was probably easier to take the uni thing a few days at a time, so I’m going back on Monday and planning to stay until Thursday. But with still no sign of my memory, I think it’s starting to settle in that I might have to relearn everything about everyone.

As planned, Daisy, Alice, Eleanor and I are having a sleepover tonight. Daisy and I have been texting a lot, which gives me an insight into the sort of friendship we must have had before. The girl has a heart of gold; I know that much from her sincerity in doing whatever it takes to make me feel comfortable.

After changing into my nightwear for the evening, a small pair of blue shorts and a white top, I head downstairs to help Eleanor in the kitchen. She’s busy making different flavoured popcorn and pouring sweets into bright pink bowls for us all to share. She’s chosen the movie, a romantic comedy she’s informed me that I’ll love and is pretty excited about the whole thing.

‘How often did we have these sleepovers?’ I ask her, twisting my blonde hair between my fingers.

‘Like, once a month at least?’ She says, not turning around. She looks pretty ridiculous in a bright pink onesie, but looks so snugly I just have to give her a hug. She laughs as I do this before smiling at me.

‘I don’t know what I would have done without you, Imo. I’m glad I don’t have to.’

I push her hair back and give her a smile. ‘Me too. What’s Alice like? Do we get along?’

She nods assertively. ‘Alice is like me. You both get along really well, like me and Dais. We’re four best friends, I guess.’

It’s not long before the doorbell rings and the two Hartley sisters are practically moving in with the amount of bags and luggage they’ve brought with them. Alice looks like the splitting image of Daisy, equally as pretty and only a few inches shorter. She sends me a big smile, before coming over and giving me a hug.

‘How are you doing?’ She asks, her honey like voice making my ears ahh in bliss.

‘I’m doing well, thanks.’

She gives me a grin, before heading off to find Eleanor. Daisy follows in behind her sister and sends me a wide smile, before dropping her bags and saying immediately, ‘This is long overdue.’

After the girls get changed into the pyjamas, with Daisy pulling out her own onesie, we’re sat in the living room on the sofas with Alice talking about the boy she has a new crush on. My interest turns to Eleanor and I wonder if she’s got her eye on anyone. Did we used to tell each other this stuff? Curiosity gets the better of me as I ask, ‘Eleanor, do you have a crush on anyone?’

I don’t miss the glances from Alice and raise my eyebrow. She so does. ‘Who is he?’ I question, watching her squirm a little uncomfortably in her seat.

She doesn’t look at me as she mumbles, ‘Just a boy.’

‘A really hot boy,’ Alice adds in with a grin. ‘Who likes Elle back, for sure.’

Aliceeeee,’ Eleanor whines, her eyebrows frowning at her best friend. ‘We don’t know that.’ She stands up and grabs the film lying on the floor and tries to turn our concentration to the film. We begin to watch the first part of it, but I’m finding it relatively boring, so nudge Daisy and ask, ‘Do you fancy anyone, Daisy?’

Daisy shakes her head, but Alice smirks. ‘Such a liar, Dais. I think Daisy’s got a thing for her co-worker.’

Daisy rolls her eyes at this and shakes her head. ‘That’s not true, Alice. And anyway, if anything was happening, Immy would be the first to know.’ Touched by that, I know that if anything was happening, she would want to tell me, whether it would mean anything to me or not, though I do want to find out more about this co-worker of hers. Rather than going to university, Daisy runs a blog as well as interns for magazines, whilst doing a bit of freelance work too.
