Nina's POV

"With all that being said, I believe everything is finally under way. All we have to do now is-" I began before the door to the meeting room was opened, two figures walking in.

Luciano was the first to stand and gave me an apologetic look before walking towards them.

I couldn't help but notice how beautiful the woman was as she looked around the room out of curiosity, her eyes soon meeting my own. I offered her a smile and she did the same before making her way towards me.

"Hi, are you Nina?" She asked me softly.

"I am... do I know you?" I replied, her soon laughing before shaking her head.

"My name is Layla. I guess you could say I'm a close friend of Luciano. He's really putting his all in this project and I heard a bit about you. I just wanted to meet you before I leave. Do you mind if I give you my number?" She explained.

I couldn't help but smile at how open she was. She kind of reminded me of Willow. Even though she said her and Luciano were just friends, I found that hard to believe. Especially with the look he was giving her.

"I don't mind" I reassured her before handing her my phone, her typing her number in before handing it back to me. Besides Willow... I didn't really have any other friend, and we haven't been in touch lately.

"Well then, I'll be going. It was nice meeting you Nina" She stated before heading back towards the door where the other two were. Luciano looked shocked while the other guy chuckled.

After waving at me, Layla focused back on who was in front of her. The man next to her looked like a older version of Luciano.

I then leaned towards Luca, "Is that Luciano's father? Cole Knight?" I asked, watching as he nodded his head.

"That's him alright. It doesn't look like he's aged since the last time I saw him" He replied.

As if he heard us, Cole began making his way to the table. Everyone watched in silence as he stood at the head of the table with a smile on his face.

Before I knew it he pulled Luca up from his seat and patted him on the back, "Is this the same Luca I saw years ago? You've grown so much... it's making me feel old" He muttered out.

A big sigh came from Luciano, "Dad can you please stop. We're in the middle of a meeting. We can discuss this another time" He interrupted.

I watched as his dad laughed before stepping back, sliding his hands in the pockets of his pants.

"Fine. But you better bring them over sometime this week" He replied before him and Layla said their farewells, soon leaving the room.

The room was now silent as Luciano made his way back to where he was sitting. "I apologize for those two... I didn't know they would be showing up at a time like this" He explained.

"It's nothing to apologize for, we were just about done with today's meeting anyway" Luca waved off.

The meeting went on for a few more moments before we all departed. Before we left, Luca and I agreed that we'd be join Luciano's family for dinner tomorrow.
