The forest is thick and heavy and I push through the undergrowth with difficulty.
As I near a small stream, and bend down for a quick drink, something catches my eye.
Bare footprints, leading alongside the stream before vanishing behind a tree. I follow them, carefully inspecting the dented ground where the person must have sat. More footprints lead away, with long strides, obvious the person was running. I continue following the path in the dark, the subtle hints showing me what happened. I can thank my father for this.
As the trees thin out and the open ground awaits me, I pull out my sword.
