I brushed my lips against his and then firmly pressed my own warm lips against Loki’s frozen and unmoving lips. I pulled away to see him studying me with his dark emerald eyes, I stood rigidly in the place where I stood. I couldn’t help feeling nervous, as he looked me dead in the eyes. He raised himself off my bed and stood toe to toe with me, and lowered his eyes to my level; he ran his fingertips over my tears which had carved red blotchy lines in my skin. He leaned in closer; he was going to kiss me. I could feel what some couples would call the spark, but this was much more. He wrapped his arms around my body, and pulled me closer to him. I stepped up onto my toes hoping to reach his lips quicker.

Suddenly my room door was slammed open welcoming bright artificial light into my eyes. Loki dropped his arms from my body as my own eyes focused to reveal a rather shocked Bruce Banner. I raised an arm and pointed towards the corridor,

“Doctor Selvig is here.”  Suddenly like glided past both me and Bruce and into the corridor, I sighed and wiped away drying tears, and placed a fake smile over my lips and nodded to Bruce, as we began to walk towards the primary observation deck. Finally the sliding doors opened to reveal a rather unorthodox looked doctor Selvig, with a brown leather brief case in one hand and another hand running though his whitening hair.

“Doctor Selvig, you have news on the recent anomalies.” He nodded and placed his brief case on the glass and metal floor. He loosened his tie slightly as his face began to turn red under the sudden pressure to tell us the news,

“well yes, these anomalies are similar to the portal I created last year using the tesseract. But these anomalies give off a completely different radiation signature compared to the gamma radiation which the tesseract portal gave off.” He once again loosened his tie and looked around the room, and quickly his eyes landed on me,

“you must be Liberty Davis.” He strode towards me with his hand out; I quickly stumbled backwards into Bruce. I quickly threw myself away from anyone and into the middle of the room,

“I’m sorry but you can touch me, and I can’t touch you.” I quickly lowered his hand, and gave a tight lipped smile,

“Oh ok, well you spotted the anomalies in the sky, how large do you think they were at the time?” I looked at him confused,

“I wouldn’t know, if I was given a chart of what stars where out that night I might be able to estimate.” Suddenly the room blacked out to reveal a huge room projection of the night sky; I looked to Nick Fury who stood at his glass screen where he had set up the projection software. I looked around to see all the constellations had been outlined, and I could remember that night the right side of Orion had been swallowed by this anomaly, I walked over to Nick Fury,

“may I?” he nodded and stepped away from his glass screens. I double tapped the glass over the constellation of Orion to enlarge it,

“here the right of Orion was missing.” Selvig nodded, suddenly light flooded the room with deadly quickness, leaving me disorientated and blind. My eyes quickly adjusted to the bright lights of the room,

“well the anomaly has grown considerably bigger since then, now Orion is gone and so is the right part of Monoceros.” Suddenly Bruce’s voice echoed in the room,

“Fury what has Loki said about what might be coming?” I looked around the room to see Loki looking at me with his deadly glare from the darkened corner of the room; I swallowed hard and then looked to Nick Fury,

“Loki has told us of a being named Thanos, he is said to be gathering an intergalactic army much bigger and stronger than the Chitauri we faced.” Selvig starred at Nick Fury for a few more seconds until once again looking nervously around the room,

“yes, I’ve been informed about this, and I believe that Thanos is planning an attack on the human race and to get the army here as fast as possible he is creating these loop holes, these anomalies in space in time to do so.” Suddenly an awkward silence over took the observation deck,

“Bruce and Tony, Doctor Selvig will be working with you in order to find a way to guard and even block these anomalies.” I looked to Bruce who nodded lightly in agreement, and then to Tony who smiled widely to Selvig. As things began to return back to normality, there was still a tenseness which hung in the air. I looked around the room to see two men staring at me, one was a crippled and angry looking Steve Rodgers, and another was a brooding and rib clutching Loki. I sighed and walked past the aggressive and pride less Captain America, to Loki who waited for me by another door which exited the room we stood in.

The corridors where quiet like always, many agents where constantly working in control rooms, or where sent out on missions. I sighed and walked next to Loki, who seemed quiet vexed as he marched through the hallways towards his own room in the agents quarters. I slammed open his room door, as he lunged his body towards his plush bed. And as his body landed on it he gave out a cry of pain, I twisted and slammed his back against a wall where his bed sat neatly in one of the four corners of the room. He pulled up his black shirt to reveal as dark swollen and blood seeping wound covering his ribs, I quickly walked over to him as he sat slumped against the wall,

“Oh God Loki.” I gasped in the pure shock of his wounds,

“what’s wrong? They weren’t like this before!” I couldn’t help feeling hysterical he was bleeding and his side looked like it had been repeatedly kicked for the last hour, suddenly he grabbed my wristed and pulled me towards him, to sit next to him,

“my body needs to go through all the stages of an injury before it heals as quickly as it does.” He growled through tightly shut teeth, I slid off the bed and entered the bathroom to find a box of first aid materials. I brought it into the main room and laid it next to Loki,

“please let me help you.” He chuckled causing him to choke slightly in pain, he unbuttoned his black shirt and discarded it by throwing it across the room, and by doing this it revealed more than I expected. By revealing more of his body he revealed more swollen and blood seeping cuts which were covering his abdomen. I opened the box of first aid materials. I quickly found some simple alcoholic wipes, I swabbed all the drying and fresh blood away from his skin, and every time I went over a wound his hissed and growled in pain. Found medial tape and some cotton pads.

Over the smaller wounds I placed the cotton and tape over them, but for his ribs I had to do more. I sat him on the edge of the bed, where he sat crooked; I placed a large cotton pad over his ribs and began to wrap his lower abdomen in thick gauze, as the wrapping became tighter his hisses and growls became more and more frequent. I quickly taped down the end of the gauze and looked at the heavy breathing and pain ridden face of Loki. He slowly lowered his back onto the plush bed and sung his legs onto the bed, his dark emerald eyes began to slowly shut. I sat on the edge of the bed waiting for a calmness to overcome the room, and it did. I smiled lightly down at the resting Loki; I slowly began to raise myself from Loki’s bed when my hand was lightly grasped by a much colder and shaky hand,

“stay.” And by just saying that one quiet and helpless word, I stayed. I moved my own much smaller body onto the long bed and lay next to Loki, and as he wrapped his arms around me, his heartbeat became slower and his body drifted into sleep, and couldn’t help allowing my eyes to close as I felt safe and secure in the arms of the wounded and injured.
