My fists hit the bag hard, as I took out any stress that had gathered in my system. My fringe flopped over my eye line, as my breath came out heavily. The music playing in the background made me feel empowered, ‘R.I.P by Rita Ora.’ My knee broke into the side of the punching bag, causing it to become crooked. I sighed out hard as my knuckles began to bleed from the raw strength with I placed into each and every punch, which showed from the multiple dents in the leather cover of the bag. Sweat dripped from my pours, as my feet came in contact with the hard bag. I stepped away from the swinging lifeless, crooked bag and narrowed my eyes and drew my lips tight, I launched forwards foot, first, the bag launched from the thick chain which held it to the gyms metal railing. The limp material hit the laminate floor, with a loud thud.

I sighed and looked at the row of three crooked and useless punching bags, I stepped lightly over to my phone, and it read, ‘4:12 AM’ I shook my head. There was no chance of me falling asleep now, I chuckled and changed the song, ‘End of the world by McFly.’ I hips swayed and I closed down the large gym. The ship was dark, only the small emergency floor lights where lit. I carried my green converse in hand as I quietly walked towards the canteen, which was dark except for the lit vending machines. I sighed and quickly pressed numbers and letters for my desired items, finally a cup of dark hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin exited the machines.

I tore the plastic wrapping slowly away from the large muffin and tip toed down the hall, towards the observation deck, I always loved the night. The stars where always beautiful, I used to lie outside in the grass watching the night turning into day. The metal door slid quietly open as I entered the wide computer filled room. I looked to my phone and twirled the thin headphone cord around my fingers, looking for the song I wanted to hear the most, ‘Broken by Seether.’ I sighed and turned my gaze towards the wide open expanse of glass in front of me, I looked at the dark cloudless sky looking for known constellations, but what surrounded me was unknown, patched of deep darkness spattered the sky like black hole. I stumbled backwards, and ran out of the observation deck. I needed to find Nick Fury.

I ran hard through the linked hall towards the agent’s quarters and Nick Fury’s. My breath came out fast; finally I was met with door coated with the S.H.I.E.L.D arms, which read ‘COMMANDER NICK FURY.’ I pulled away my headphones as, my fist pounded against the hard metal door,

“Who is it and state your business?” I took a step back from the metal door,

“It’s Liberty Davis, and my business is urgent.” Suddenly the door opened with a fully dressed Commander Fury,

“What’s Urgent Miss Davis?” his scowl told me to tell it quick, I breathed in heavily and began to talk,

“I went to the observation deck and I look out to see areas of stars missing.” The commander began to stalk past me walking towards the observation deck; I followed closely at his side, not muttering a word. Finally I met once again with the wide expanse of missing night sky,

“I see what you mean Miss Davis.” And where he stood suddenly three glass screens lit up, and with one tap an alarm went off and quickly stopped,

“Every one of the observation deck.” Nick Fury looked at me,

“we need to get doctor Selvig.” but suddenly a sharp piercing noise filled my head. My eyes closed tightly shut as I tried to control my mental barrier, but it wasn’t working as nonverbal voices filled my head with unanswered questions. Suddenly pain erupted down my spine, causing me to collapse to the ground. This wasn’t physical pain, this was mental torture. My body collapsed to the ground in a heap of writhing agony as voice drowned out my own actions. Suddenly I could feel the warm coppery liquid flow from my mouth, suddenly my body was hunched over, and blood poured from my mouth as if some unknown force was trying to make me reject the only thing with was keeping me alive. My eyes sprung open to see S.H.I.E.L.D agents gathered around me helpless, and afraid. I moved my body against the metal railing; suddenly Steve’s verbal voice rang out,

“what are you doing? Someone get Loki!” he screamed, suddenly the once frozen agents went and search for Loki. Steve kneeled besides me trying to give me words of comfort, but they were drowned out by one singular voice and it wasn’t Loki’s,

“you are so weak Liberty, you will die Liberty. You and the avengers cannot save this planet, and they cannot save you.” Suddenly the pain began to fade, and the blood began to run dry. My body swayed backwards and forwards, I looked at Steve and to the other blurred figures which surrounded me, suddenly a person pushed through the blurred figures, to look as clear as day,

“Loki.” I muttered hoarsely, suddenly I was lifted from the floor beneath me, my heart beat slowed as if it was giving up. My head lay limp over Loki’s arm as he carried me through the white wash halls. My mind was silent now, as I was laid on a cold metal slab.

Maybe I was dead, suddenly my back arched upwards as something was pushed into my arm. My eyes flickered around the room, suddenly three people appeared in white and surrounded me, all stuck needles into my thin and pale skin, I looked around the room to see Loki dressed in his full attire, suddenly one voice entered my head,

‘what happened to you?’ my breath came out hard as I tried to speak from my dry and blood filled mouth,

‘I don’t know but something spoke directly to me Loki. I don’t know what or who it was.’ Suddenly my back arched again, and the medics which surrounded me,

“she has internal bleeding.” One shouted loudly to Loki, he looked into my eye softly and spoke back to the medic,

“I know she does.” The medics looked at him surprise,

“Now will you please leave you are obviously only causing her pain.” The medics stumbled backwards and away from my dying body as Loki strode towards me. His eyes menacing, as he looked once again the stunned medics,

“I said leave!” the medics exited the room with a high speed as Loki grew closer to me, his lips where closed tight as he looked over my body, he gently pressed his index finger to my damp bloody lip and looked at it with interest. He then looked at me, more blood dripped from the corner of my mouth as I opened my mouth to speak,

“Am I going to die Loki? Tell me the truth.” His eyes narrowed,

“yes and no, without my help you will die, with it you will live.” He leaned over me and looked straight into my eyes,

“but you must do one thing.” My eyes brimmed with tears as my gut began to twist with pain,

“Please stop playing games tell me what I have to do!” I turned onto my side and curled up as the pain emanating from my stomach spread to my chest,

“you have to let me kiss you.” I looked up at him, as I began to push myself into a sitting position, on the cool metal and blood slab, Loki moved closer to me,

“why do you have to do this Loki?” he moved even closer to me and raised his fingers to my cheek as he brushed away the blood,

“if I could do it by just simply holding you I would, but I cannot. I do not know the logic behind magic Liberty.” He sighed and looked at me with his bright emerald eyes, and suddenly that’s all I could think of, as his lips pressed against mine. His arms wrapped around my back pressing my blood soaked body into his lean and muscled one. Every cell in my body was given a new zeal, and new life. My eyes closed as images flashed before them, it was Loki as a child, the day he found out what he really was, a frost giant, he fell from the Bifrost, the day in Manhattan when he tried to take over the world. My heart beat became harder and faster in my chest as Loki held me closer to him, our lips soon parted for air.

I looked at his dark eyes but he suddenly looked away from me,

“you’re out of harm’s way for now Liberty.” I nodded and lightly placed an index finger against my lips; I looked at my blood covered body and then looked up to see that Loki was no longer standing next to me or even in the same room. He had left me alone to mull things over, to allow myself to think, to allow myself to regret.
