Change. Change was something inevitable. This world is ever-changing, and so was everyone. "You look great," said Alexandra with a very wide grin. Carlos somehow knew that she sometimes imagined what he would look like if he was more fit than fat. "Carlos, I — " He zoned out, hearing but not quite understanding what she was saying to him when he noticed the woman behind her.

She was beautiful. His heart flopped like a dying fish when her light brown eyes met his. He thought it looked like his hot coco during rainy days. Sweet, brown, and wonderful. What was her name? Carlos wanted to know her name. He wanted to know how it felt to say it, how easily it'd roll off his tongue.

Wow. This was really happening. His 'love at first sight' had come home with his sister!

You (and I) were just meant to be!

"Hello," said the coco-eyed girl with a smile dancing at the edges of her lips. Carlos couldn't help but smile at how lovely her voice sounded.

Say goodbye (say goodbye) to the pain of the past.

It was like... music to his ears, even through the music playing in his earbuds. He pulled his earbuds off his ears and opened his mouth to say something back, but damn she looked amazing. "Alexa," she elbowed his little sister, but her eyes did not leave his. "Um — is that Brian?"

Brian? Carlos' dazed look shattered and morphed into a frown as he realized that she actually thought that he was Brian. For a fleeting moment, he felt insecure. Would she reject him if she knew that she was Carlos — the once fat yet still dorky brother?

Thinking that he should be the one to introduce himself, Carlos held his hand out. "Carlos. I'm Carlos, Alexa's brother." When she stepped closer to shake his hand, her scent clouded his senses. She smelt like the leaves during autumn, strong and... leafy. Moreover, he seemed to have detected a hint of roses with her scent. She smelled amazing.

Then their hands touched. Carlos swore his heart was going to leap out of his chest. That, or he'd die of severe tachycardia. Her hands weren't exactly what he'd describe as soft and delicate. They had a firm yet gentle hold. Perhaps it was because she was a rogue and —

His eyes widened when he realized that small fact.

His mate was a rogue.

Despite the changes that occured in their pack, Alexandra soon found herself staring at the familiar form of their house. It did not change a bit. The pastel colored walls greeted her as she, Christian and Sam stepped inside. Sam was the one who fetched Carlos. And speaking of the devil, Alexandra couldn't help but grin at how comical their expressions were as soon as they shook hands.

Carlos resembled... well, her adorkable brother. At first, he didn't seem to be planning on letting go of Angelina's hand as he continued to stare at her with his eyes glazed with adoration.

"This is awesome..." he mumbled before a cheeky grin quickly made appearance on his lips. "I'm mates with a swashbuckling rogue."

No matter how much Angelina tried to rein back her impending laughter, her shoulders shook with it. "Mates?! Did you hear that Noah?" A sneeze answered Xavier's voice from the high branch and Christian looked up immediately, scanning it. "Angel's going to need a bigger bed now!"

Xavier's words seemed to have ticked Angelina off because she glared at the direction of her younger brother. "Xavier, you'll be doing two weeks of patrol duty for that." When he groaned, the alpha female sighed. "And you may go down now."
