Accidental Infidelity

"You probably should match Diego's tie with your dress. Hindi ba't hindi ka naman nagsabi sa kaniya kung ano ang kulay ng susuotin mo?" tanong ni Lean sa akin habang naglilibot-libot kami sa mall. We both decided to shop for our outfits together for the event. It almost like we were twins, and everyone in the family always expects us to come together, especially since the Tuasons have already accepted the Lims in our family.

"Yup, maghahanap na lang ako rito."

I was just smiling while looking for Diego's matching tie. Habang naghahanap kami kanina nang masusuot sa paborito naming shop, Lean just saw the perfect outfit for me, and the perfect color, too. Diego loved the color green, one thing that I've never forgotten ever since. I just happened to remember it every now and then. At kahit naman nakikita ko siya, he somewhat represents and resembles his favorite color. Like a breather, a clean environment, where one can relax and live free. Diego just reminds me of an uncorrupt and peaceful nature. Diego's exactly like a spring where everyone and everything blooms.

"Hindi ko alam kung kailangan ko bang ma-excite o kabahan this weekend. You're going to introduce Diego to everyone despite your Ahma's warning!" Lean exclaimed while she was driving.

"And you'll be there to support me. Alam kong hindi ako kakampihan ng mga Tuason, kaya ikaw, bilang Lim, dapat naroon ka."

"Duh, I'm all you have. At isa pa, hindi ko kayang palampasin iyon. I need to feature it, too. I also want to document their faces for the memories. I can't believe you're doing this crazy shit again for love." Naiiling niyang sabi.

I chuckled too. "I'm not even sure if what I did back then was for love."

"Of course, it is. I'm not speaking about the Ryker shit, it's about yourself and your freedom. Kahit pa hindi naman nila naibigay ang gusto mo, you still stood up against them and tried your best. Not anyone can do that, Lieve."

"Thanks. I've never really regret it."

Even now, if I could still go back at that time, the only thing I'd change was for me to have been stronger and braver. At ngayon, sisiguraduhin ko na mas matapang at mas matatag ako. I was not the same girl anymore who's just stubborn and only thinks of herself. I've thought about a lot of things now and I'm not just doing this for myself. I'm doing this for any one who's been holding back their feelings and having to feel that what they have is a hopeless case. I really want to ignite hope for my family.

Even though I know Lean's going to be there...and Diego, I can't help but feel scared. Kasi paano kung hindi ko pala kaya? What would Diego feel? I can't seem to imagine the pain and rejection that Diego will have to go through just because of my family.

"Looks like your parents aren't home today," sabi ni Lean nang itigil na niya ang sasakyan sa harap ng bahay.

"Yeah. Mom had something to do somewhere in Cebu. I think it was about local designs. Dad's back in China for some transactions. I think they'll be back the day before Ahma's birthday."

"They are workaholic, pero sabagay kailangan nilang magtrabaho pa rin because you're not planning to save their business."

"Sounds about right. Anyway, thanks for today. Magkita na lang tayo sa hotel on Saturday."
